Netflix’s take on the series has a long journey ahead. The anime has over 1,000 episodes under its belt, yet the live-action show has kept steadily working through the pirate epic. Season 1 introduced Monkey D. Luffy as he put together his crew and embarked on the search for the legendary One Piece, and the upcoming second season features a stylish new subtitle: .
Now, the official Season 2 teaser discloses just how much of the anime will be brought to life. It also showcases characters fans have eagerly awaited: the Baroque Works assassins, a secret group of supervillains with diverse eccentricities and abilities. Take a look below.
The teaser highlights a large portion of One Piece’s Alabasta arc, as the crew of the Going Merry meets Princess Vivi (Charithra Chandran), travels through Drum Island’s snowy landscapes, and encounters the ship’s future medic, Tony Tony Chopper. But the most notable appearances are the Baroque Works assassins, ranging from Miss All Sunday (Lera Abova) to Mr. 9 (Daniel Lasker).
Many of the characters shown have Devil Fruit abilities. Miss All Sunday can grow parts of her body from any item—we see this when her arms emerge from her foes and turn their own weapons against them. We also witness Miss Valentine (Jazzara Jaslyn) using her power to shift her body weight from as light as a feather to impossibly heavy.

“You’ll never find the One Piece,” Miss Goldenweek (Sophia-Anne Caruso) warns. She’s shown with her paint palette, a crucial element of her abilities. Miss Goldenweek hasn’t eaten a Devil Fruit, but she uses her artistic skill to create images so powerful they’re actually hypnotic. And that’s not even mentioning the man who can manipulate candle wax or the guy whose body parts (and fluids) are explosive. If you loved the detailed Devil Fruit lore in One Piece Season 1, Season 2 will be a thrill.
