Pickleball is gaining popularity across the US in 2024, and the trend is particularly strong in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, a city with approximately 59,000 residents and over 60 pickleball courts.

In 2021, there were 29 pickleball meetup groups in the Palm Beach Gardens area. Today, that number has soared to over 550 groups across various social media platforms.

One group, established in 2021 by Christopher Maza, combines pickleball with breakfast, calling themselves the Lilac Pickleball Breakfast Club. is one of the parks in Palm Beach Gardens that boasts 24 pickleball courts and is consistently bustling with activity.

The group is dedicated to playing pickleball, even venturing onto the courts during rainstorms and even during the recent Hurricane Milton, taking advantage of breaks in the rain.

“Groups like this are emerging nationwide,” said Carl Foster, host of the nationally syndicated TV show, . “The sport continues to grow even after its rapid surge during Covid,” continued Foster.

Palm Beach Gardens serves as a prime example of pickleball’s magnetic appeal. The sport’s unprecedented growth has already surpassed both golf and tennis in terms of player numbers. Given these statistics, it’s safe to say that pickleball is here to stay, and its popularity is now extending to numerous countries worldwide.
