Phoenix, Arizona – The Arizona Pharmacy Association (AzPA), representing Arizona’s pharmacy professionals, announced Garet Turner as its new CEO, effective January 6th. Turner, a veteran in association management, membership growth, and fundraising, will lead the organization.

AzPA board president Jacob Schwarz praised Turner’s leadership and innovative approach, stating his appointment will drive future growth and better serve members, the profession, and patients.

Turner brings over 15 years of experience in senior association and nonprofit roles. His expertise includes team development, revenue generation, legislative lobbying, large-scale event management, and strategic board leadership. Recently, he served as interim executive director and vice president of strategic engagement for the Association of Air Medical Services and MedEvac Foundation International, modernizing their technology infrastructure. Previously, he secured significant funding as Chief Development Officer for the American Society of Association Executives.

Kimberly Langley, AzPA’s immediate past president and CEO search committee chair, called Turner’s appointment a significant step forward, highlighting his extensive experience and fresh perspectives. The five-month search yielded an exceptional candidate committed to advancing Arizona’s pharmacy profession.

Turner’s initial priorities include member and legislative outreach, strengthening AzPA’s Legislative Affairs Committee and Foundation, and guiding future legislative and regulatory actions. In late January, he will collaborate with the AzPA board to create a three-year strategic plan.

Turner expressed his enthusiasm to serve AzPA’s members, emphasizing the critical impact of Arizona’s pharmacists and technicians on the state’s population. He committed to prioritizing timely and relevant educational and advocacy initiatives.

AzPA president-elect Jaime von Glahn anticipates a new era of growth and innovation under Turner’s leadership.
