PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. has designated Police Brigadier General Roderick Augustus Alba as the new director of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in Central Visayas.

Alba, a member of the PNP Academy “Tagapagpatupad” Class of 1992, replaced Police Brigadier General Roque Eduardo Vega, who is scheduled to retire Thursday, October 13, 2022.

Prior to his reassignment, Alba served as chief of PNP Public Information Office for a year. He was previous assigned as deputy chief of PNP Information Technology Management Service (ITMS), Officer-in-Charge of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), Provincial director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo), chief of Regional Operations and Plans Division of PRO-Western Visayas, and other command, staff and training assignments as a senior PNP officer.

“I am confident that Central Visayas is in good hands with General Alba at the helm. His competence, commitment and work ethics bespeak his leadership approach, and, so, I entrust him to lead the 11,420 strong personnel of Police Regional Office 7,” said Azurin.

The turnover of command ceremony will be held Thursday at Camp Sergio Osmeña Sr., Osmeña Blvd., Cebu City. It will be presided over by Azurin. (LMY/PR)
