London, United Kingdom, November 25, 2024 – AFI Rentals continues its strong commitment to sustainability, notably through its successful Carbon Offset Scheme. In the second quarter of 2024 (ending June 2024), AFI offset a record 555 tonnes of CO2, bringing its total offset to date to 555 tonnes. This increase reflects the rising number of customers using the online ordering system and participating in the scheme.
AFI’s Carbon Offsetting Pledge automatically includes all customers renting powered access equipment online. For each online order, AFI offsets 200% of the machine delivery emissions and 100% of collection emissions. This demonstrates AFI’s dedication to environmental responsibility and empowers customers to contribute positively through their rentals.
The scheme, partnered with Ecologi, a reputable sustainability platform, invests in renewable energy and nature-based carbon avoidance projects and continues to grow. As online orders increase, so does AFI’s contribution to global sustainability, highlighting its leadership in environmental responsibility within the powered access rental sector.
Carbon offset total: 555 tonnes to June 2024.
Carbon emission reduction: 33% (compared to the pre-COVID period).
Green equipment investment: £20 million.
Paper waste reduction: 75%.
Paul Roberts, AFI’s CFO, commented:
“We believe transparency and objective measurement are crucial for assessing sustainability progress. We acknowledge this is an ongoing process of improvement. Our business success depends not only on financial performance but also on our commitment to our employees, the environment, and the communities where we operate.“
AFI Rentals remains dedicated to further reducing its carbon footprint and offering sustainable solutions to customers, helping build a greener future.
