In a landscape with numerous superhero franchises, it’s not unusual for lines to blur a bit. Halle Berry has played both Catwoman and Storm, J.K. Simmons has portrayed both Jim Gordon and J. Jonah Jameson, and even a DC Studios co-president was heavily involved with Guardians of the Galaxy.
But one film—Matt Reeves’ —is bringing two major Marvel stars to DC, and one might take on a beloved villain. Could this news spell trouble for Doomsday?

Per , Sebastian Stan is negotiating to join the cast of The Batman Part II, even as he remains deeply tied to the MCU—most recently appearing in Thunderbolts. He’ll join fellow Marvel alum Scarlett Johansson, who portrayed Natasha Romanov in several MCU films.
When it comes to who Stan might play, one clear candidate stands out: Two-Face, a.k.a. Harvey Dent. Leaker Jeff Sneider appeared to confirm this casting, making it the top theory. If that’s the case, he has a Marvel connection to draw on: his Captain America: The First Avenger co-star Tommy Lee Jones played Dent in Batman Forever. Sneider also shared that the Marvel actor already featured in The Batman—Eternals’ Barry Keoghan, who made a late cameo as the Joker—will reprise his role in Part II.

Yet this announcement might have a downside. If Sebastian Stan has a contract clause barring him from rival superhero franchises, this casting could end Bucky Barnes’ run in the MCU. We know Steve Rogers is returning to Avengers: Doomsday in December—could that mean his old friend sacrifices himself for Steve? It all hinges on legal matters that may not even apply, so it’s purely speculative right now.
But beyond the Marvel implications, one thing is certain: we’re getting another live-action Two-Face, and given how The Batman handled The Riddler, he’ll be unlike any version we’ve seen before.
