The fairs are the preferred platform for the industry to showcase innovation, connect with global buyer networks and accelerate business development.”Survey findings: Respondents were most optimistic about the India and Australia marketsTo keep abreast of the latest industry developments, the HKTDC conducted an on-site survey during the fairs, interviewing 450 exhibitors and buyers. The findings show that overall confidence among exhibitors and buyers in future business development has shown a general increase.Key market outlook and product trend findings:49.1% of respondents expect overall sales to increase in the next 12 to 24 months, while 47.6% expect sales to remain stable.Respondents consider India (73.4%), Australia (71%), ASEAN countries (70.4%), and Japan (68.1%) to be promising or very promising target sales markets for lighting products over the next two years in terms of growth. In terms of new market development, exhibitor respondents are actively exploring Middle East (31.8%), Europe (29.5%), ASEAN countries (23.9%), Latin America (17.6%) and North America (14.8%).In the smart lighting segment, respondents identified home automation and intelligent lighting control systems (48.2%), energy saving lighting control solutions (38.2%), and outdoor smart security lighting systems (31.1%) as having the greatest growth potential over the next two years.Compared with conventional lighting products, respondents indicated that consumers are willing to pay an average premium of 29% for lighting products equipped with smart functions.Scenario-based displays and new zones enhance sourcing effectiveness, with positive trade outcomesThe newly launched “Light Lab” features various scenario-based and immersive designs, integrating lighting products into landscape, sports, cultural and artistic application settings. Shanghai Sansi Electronic Engineering showcased plant clamp lights and compact downlights suitable for museum applications. Guoli Zhu, Deputy Chief Engineer of the company said: “The Light Lab has effectively enhanced the presentation of our products, enabling buyers to more intuitively and swiftly grasp product features and their real-world application scenarios. This has successfully attracted buyers from Argentina, Canada, Germany, India, Japan and the US to visit our booth for in-depth discussions. We expect this to result in orders worth over US$1 million.”The Smart Lighting Expo also debuted the “Smart Display and Stage Lighting & Sound Zone” which displayed a wide range of intelligent display solutions. Industry leader Absen participated in the fair for the first time. Benjamin Tang, Senior Sales Engineer, said: “The new zone has effectively enhanced product visibility, attracting buyers from Eastern Europe, Oceania, North America, South America, and South Asia to our booth. These inquiries came from new clients across key sectors such as cultural tourism and stage engineering. We have also successfully engaged in several promising collaboration discussions with potential clients from the Dominican Republic, Hong Kong and Thailand, further strengthening the company’s market expansion plan. We estimate the value of orders from the expo will amount to US$930,000. Riding on this momentum, we have decided to join the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) this year.”The newly launched “Leisure Lighting Zone” has injected new momentum into the Spring Lighting Fair. Rebecca Seo, CFO of NIZ, a first-time exhibitor from Korea, said: “The fair has provided us with an excellent platform to connect with international buyers. We have successfully connected with buyers from Denmark, Germany, Japan, and the US, and a well-known Japanese homeware retailer has already placed an on-site order. Thanks to the strong traffic generated by the new zone, we expect the fair to bring up to US$70 million in orders for our company this year."Supported by Zhongshan as the Special Partner City, the fairs featured the Zhongshan Guzhen Pavilion and Zhongshan Henglan Pavilion under the Zhongshan Smart Home Zone, presenting the manufacturing strength and competitiveness of the region’s lighting industry while supporting enterprises in “going global”. Merry Liu, Manager of Bairan Lighting, an industrial enterprise above designated size in Henglan, Zhongshan, said: “The two lighting fairs provide Zhongshan enterprises with an efficient ‘go-global’ gateway, enabling us to connect directly with buyers from Europe, the Middle East, South America, and Southeast Asia. This helps drive our products and brand onto the international stage. We expect to achieve US$2 million in sales.”During the fair, the HKTDC organised a buying mission to Zhongshan for the first time, visiting several lighting factories and participating in business matching meetings. This initiative aimed to deepen exchange and cooperation within the Zhongshan lighting supply chain. The visit successfully facilitated several substantive business collaborations; New Zealand buyer Spark100 Ltd established a connection with a Zhongshan lighting supplier, with a potential order value estimated between US$100,000 and US$300,000.This year’s exhibition also attracted buyers from the Middle East. Patrick Zhang, VP of sales of Tecnon Lighting Technology from the Shenzhen Pavilion, stated: “At this year’s fair, a buyer from the United Arab Emirates and a US buyer from a leading women’s fashion brand are likely to become our cooperation partners. We expect to generate US$2 million in sales turnover for our company.”As construction projects in the ASEAN region accelerate, market demand for smart lighting solutions continues to expand. Sambath HK, Manager of RS Decoration from Cambodia, stated, “I travelled here specifically to source lighting products for 14 new commercial building and luxury residential projects. I have already met with over 20 new suppliers and identified two potential partners offering smart street lights, solar lights, and decorative lighting products. I will initially purchase US$100,000 worth of smart street lights.”Driven by the Belt and Road Initiative, urban development in participating countries and regions are in full swing, fuelling a continuous surge in demand for high-efficiency and smart lighting products. Aigerim Beisekina, Supply Manager of Karelz.kz from Kazakhstan, said: “This is our first time visiting the twin lighting fairs, to find reliable suppliers for a solar-powered stadium and sports lighting for three international schools currently under construction in Kazakhstan. Through the Click2Match business matching platform, we have identified three potential suppliers from the Chinese Mainland and plan to purchase lighting equipment valued between US$600,000 and US$900,000.”During the fairs, multiple professional events were held, including the Asian Lighting Conference and the Smart Lighting Solutions Forum. Designers and industry representatives from different regions shared market trends, application cases and technological developments, providing forward-looking market insight for the industry.EXHIBITION+ model sustains post-fair business opportunitiesUnder the hybrid EXHIBITION+ model, the twin lighting fairs combined in-person sourcing with online meetings via the HKTDC’s Click2Match smart business-matching platform and hktdc.com sourcing platform. Analysts warn Hezbollah arms impasse could spark civil war as US readies Israel-Lebanon negotiations
(SeaPRwire) - As Israel and Lebanon resume U.S.-brokered talks in Washington on Thursday, the core issue that has derailed every prior attempt to reach a lasting agreement remains front and center: What will happen to Hezbollah, the Iran-backed terror organization? An Israeli official told Digital that the meeting, hosted by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, will be attended by senior U.S. officials — U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa and Counselor Michael Needham — as well as Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter and Lebanese Ambassador Nada Hamadeh. A State Department spokesperson described the initial April 14 meeting as "productive." "We will continue to enable direct, good-faith discussions between the two governments," the spokesperson told Digital. The meeting takes place as a fragile U.S.-brokered ceasefire reached in mid-April is holding for the time being, creating what officials call a narrow diplomatic window after weeks of cross-border fighting. But the truce has not addressed the root causes of the conflict — it has only put the fighting on hold. According to previous reporting, the latest outbreak of violence began on March 2, when Hezbollah launched attacks on Israel’s northern border, opening a new front in the regional war just days after U.S.–Israeli strikes targeted Iran on February 28. Israel retaliated with sustained air and ground operations across southern Lebanon designed to push Hezbollah forces away from the border, while Hezbollah continued to fire rockets and drones into northern Israeli territory. The fighting displaced more than a million people across Lebanon and forced Israeli civilians to take shelter in designated safe spaces, highlighting the large scale of the escalation. Now, even as hostilities have temporarily calmed, the core conditions that led to the war remain unchanged, leaving negotiators to work through the same unresolved question at the heart of the conflict. A senior U.S. official with knowledge of the negotiations outlined the core impasse: Hezbollah will not agree to lay down its arms without a full Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon, while Israel will not pull out of the area unless Hezbollah disarms first. International mechanisms — including the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and a multilateral coordination group — have been working to resolve this standoff since late 2024, with no success to date. The same official also noted that Lebanese president Joseph Aoun is not necessarily the deciding voice in these discussions; instead, Nabih Berri, speaker of the nation's House of Representatives, is the figure who holds actual authority, not Aoun. At the same time, Hezbollah has continued to oppose any contact with Israel and still wields significant influence over Lebanon’s political and security decisions, creating obstacles for U.S. efforts to move the talks forward. Within Lebanon, however, frustration with Hezbollah appears to be growing steadily. "There is a rising sentiment across Lebanon that any U.S.-brokered negotiation track could be a rare opportunity to restore balance to the state," said Rami Naeem, a Lebanese journalist and analyst with Jusoor News. "Hezbollah’s ongoing military and political dominance is widely viewed as a core driver of the state’s collapse, and even a gradual or indirect opening of ties with Israel could help rebuild state institutions and restore their proper role." Mariam Kasrawani, a Lebanese analyst at Jusoor News, said criticism of the group is becoming increasingly explicit. "It is getting harder to ignore how deep the crisis runs," she said. "Some people are now stating it openly: Hezbollah has dragged all of Lebanon — and Shia communities in particular — into an extremely bad position." "I am not at all optimistic about this process," said Barak Seener of the Henry Jackson Society think tank. "Lebanon is far too weak and divided to force Hezbollah to disarm. And Hezbollah is so deeply embedded in Lebanon’s political system. Any effort to disarm Hezbollah could spark a civil war." Instead, Seener noted, the talks are centered on limited, tactical goals. "Discussions are focused on extending the ceasefire, Hezbollah’s withdrawal from border zones, and an expanded deployment of the Lebanese army. Disarmament is not a focus of the talks at all." This gap highlights what he described as the real nature of the negotiation process. "I believe these talks are destined to fail," Seener said. "In my view, Israel is currently only focused on managing the conflict, not resolving it." Adding to the uncertainty are reports from the Saudi daily Asharq Al-Awsat that the U.S. may push Lebanon to repeal its 1955 Israel Boycott Law, which prohibits any contact with Israelis. The report frames this potential move as a step toward normalization, but offers no supporting details and has not been confirmed by U.S. or Lebanese officials. Digital reached out to the State Department and the Lebanese Embassy in Washington D.C. for comment, but did not receive a response before publication. FastX Launching, a New Generation Global Trading Exchange
NEW YORK, Apr 23, 2026 - (ACN Newswire via SeaPRwire.com) - FastX today announces the official launch of its platform, a next-generation exchange built for professional and active traders who require institutional‑grade tools without surrendering custody or control of their assets. FastX goes live globally on 5 May, with traders able to access the platform directly at fastx.co.FastX combines deep on‑chain liquidity, multi‑asset perpetual futures markets, and an advanced copy-trading engine designed to bridge the gap between traditional finance and the decentralized digital asset ecosystem. By leveraging blockchain technology, the platform delivers low‑latency mirroring of trades across major decentralized networks worldwide—while keeping users in full control of their own wallets and risk."FastX was created by traders for traders," said Adelene, Chief Executive Officer of FastX. "We've spent our careers on Wall Street desks and in crypto markets, and we've seen the same problems repeat: opaque execution, misaligned incentives, and copytrading systems that ask users to blindly outsource decisions. FastX is our answer—a decentralised, transparent infrastructure layer where traders keep custody, and technology works to augment, not replace, their edge."Backed by a team of veteran traders with more than 50 years of combined experience across top Wall Street institutions and leading crypto trading firms, FastX is built from the ground up as a decentralised protocol. Users connect their own wallets, maintain self‑custody at all times, and interact with smart contracts that execute trades on‑chain, rather than relying on a centralised broker or custodial exchange. At launch, FastX will offer:Deep, on‑chain liquidity across a wide range of perpetual markets, designed to support serious position sizes with tight spreads and minimal slippage.A fast, intuitive trading interface accessible directly via fastx.co, allowing traders to plug in with their preferred wallet and start trading in minutes.A transparent affiliate and points system that shares a meaningful portion of platform fees with the community and rewards traders and partners who help grow liquidity and volume. The flagship feature of FastX is its next‑generation copytrading system. Unlike traditional social trading products that mirror orders on a single venue with unpredictable delays, FastX's engine is designed to route and synchronise copy trades across major decentralised exchanges, layering those capabilities on top of FastX's own liquidity. The result is a copytrading experience that aims to:Minimise latency between lead and follower execution.Mitigate structural risks such as slippage, desync, and obvious forms of manipulation.Exploit decentralised advantages, such as transparent on‑chain track records and programmable risk controls, without turning the platform into a centralised black box."Copytrading has always been typecast as a blind, autonomous disaster waiting to happen," Adelene added. "FastX takes the opposite stance. We use technology to bring more transparency, not less—on‑chain track records, built‑in risk parameters, and infrastructure that reduces front‑running and execution games wherever possible. Over time, our goal is to layer AI‑driven intelligence on top of this foundation so that users can benefit from advanced analytics and risk management, rather than just 'follow and hope'."FastX is currently seed‑funded by a network of angels deeply embedded in the global crypto trading ecosystem. These backers share a common view that the next generation of markets will be built on open, verifiable rails and that traders deserve better, more transparent instrumentation for expressing and managing risk. FastX is assembling a strong advisory board of experienced traders, market makers, and technologists to guide the exchange through its next phase of growth. As a decentralised protocol, FastX does not take custody of user funds and does not operate as a traditional broker. All positions, liquidations, and fee flows are visible on‑chain, giving traders clear, verifiable insight into how the system behaves under all market conditions."Our vision is simple," said Adelene. "We want professional‑grade perpetuals and intelligent copytrading to live where they belong: on transparent, decentralised infrastructure, not in a black box. Launching FastX on 5 May is the first step. From here, we'll continue to ship faster execution, smarter tooling, and AI‑enhanced copytrading that helps traders survive and thrive in 24/7 markets."Traders can learn more and access the exchange at https://fastx.co.About FastXFastX focuses on building decentralised financial infrastructure and tools for professional traders and sophisticated market participants. The company backs products that prioritise self‑custody, transparency, and robust risk management in rapidly evolving digital asset markets.Media ContactBrand: FastX Perpetuals ExchangeContact: Ella HuangWebsite: https://fastx.co/ Copyright 2026 ACN Newswire via SeaPRwire.com. Chris Bird of 1xBet on ensuring responsible marketing for sports betting operators
(AsiaGameHub) - Partnering with renowned sports organizations is a standard brand awareness tactic for sports betting and online casino operators seeking to acquire new customers. 1xBet, an international sports betting company holding over 35 local licenses, is an example of a firm that has leveraged alliances with some of the globe's most famous sports entities to boost its international brand recognition. The company is assembling a sponsorship portfolio that mirrors the scope and variety of international sport. From teams like FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain to leagues such as LaLiga and Serie A, the emphasis has been on collaborations with significant sporting relevance and fan engagement. However, associating with such prominent brands and their devoted, frequently impressionable supporters carries a heightened degree of responsibility. Why do operators sponsor major sporting brands? Chris Bird, a media expert recently hired as a consultant for 1xBet, states that firms must view these collaborations as opportunities for reputation building alongside commercial gains. “You cannot engage in a sponsorship of this nature with a sole focus on the financial benefits,” Bird stated. “These alliances offer immense visibility and clout, which also introduces an obligation to safeguard the reputation of the sport, the sponsoring company, and the fans. “Every action must be founded on doing the correct thing, in the proper manner, communicating transparently, and proving that sports sponsorships can be executed with genuine integrity.” Bird possesses experience from both perspectives of the sponsorship dynamic. In addition to counseling operators like 1xBet and Betfred, he formerly held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Manchester City FC from 1999 to 2003. In the time since, the connection between professional sports and the gambling industry has often been under scrutiny, frequently accompanied by critiques from advocacy groups who contend that betting firms have grown excessively prevalent in sports. However, Bird observes that the merging of sport, entertainment, and betting mirrors an authentic demand from enthusiasts. “It is undeniable that sport, entertainment, and wagering have become increasingly intertwined over the past twenty years,” he elaborated. “The explanation for this is straightforward: a segment of sports fans likes to bet on match results. “When you spend time among the fans, as I did during my years following and working for Manchester City and in football generally, you understand that for many supporters, it is simply a component of the matchday ritual. “This convergence has occurred because the fan communities themselves have merged. Supporters desire thrill and involvement around the game, and betting companies have progressively provided that through more interactive and engaging methods.” What does responsible gambling sponsorship look like? Bird is collaborating extensively with 1xBet to advise the company on responsible gambling protocols and how these tenets should influence its sponsorship strategy. His function, he clarified, focuses on preserving integrity within sports partnerships. “My collaboration with them is essentially about guaranteeing that integrity is the core of every sports sponsorship,” he remarked. “It involves posing the correct questions: Is this alliance suitable? Are the communications responsible? Are we safeguarding the audience while also promoting the brand?” Bird’s viewpoint is also informed by his role as CEO of the Raheem Sterling Foundation, where he has backed programs that work with people and families impacted by addiction. “That involvement provides a very tangible comprehension of the consequences when situations deteriorate. It underscores the importance of detecting potential issues early and, more critically, concentrating on prevention instead of remediation.” Due to that experience, Bird is convinced that integrity must be the foundation of any venture he participates in. “In my view, any partnership in this arena must be grounded in integrity and fundamental decency,” he continued. “My observation of 1xBet is of a company that treats player protection seriously and is considerate about integrating these principles into its marketing.” He contends that education is pivotal to this methodology. “Their philosophy acknowledges that education must be a top priority,” he said. “If you visualize sponsorship as a pyramid, the commercial aspect may be at the peak, but the base must be integrity and protection. “As you ascend that pyramid, all elements are linked. It is impossible to construct a robust commercial framework without a solid foundation of integrity supporting it.” What is the future of gambling sponsorship in sport? It is widely reported that the Premier League is implementing a voluntary prohibition on gambling sponsorships on the front of shirts starting next season. Many anticipate these deals will transition to alternatives like perimeter advertising or training kit sponsorships, though these agreements are not expected to equal the monetary worth of shirt-front partnerships. Although the shift may affect Premier League clubs, Bird thinks the repercussions could be more substantial for clubs lower in the football hierarchy. “For clubs in lower divisions, from the Championship down to non-league, the scenario becomes far more complex,” he noted. “If a club such as Accrington Stanley or Hyde United gets a sponsorship proposal from a betting firm and that revenue enables them to cover staff wages, support athletes, upgrade infrastructure, and fund grassroots football, that money can truly contribute to securing the club's longevity. “The ensuing question is, should they be obliged to reject that chance outright?” Bird is of the opinion that complete prohibitions might not always be the most efficient method for fan protection. “There remains a role in sports for credible betting companies that function responsibly and ethically,” he concluded. “However, those companies need to show they are committed to education, player safety, and a duty of care. If these principles are firmly established, then betting sponsorships can continue to have a place in sports in a manner that is both responsible and sustainable.” This article is provided by a third-party. 1xBet’s Chris Bird Discusses Ensuring Responsible Sports Marketing for Operators
(AsiaGameHub) - Partnering with prominent sporting institutions is a tried-and-true brand awareness strategy for sports betting and online casino operators looking to attract new customers. 1xBet, a global sports betting operator holding over 35 local licenses, is among these firms that have leveraged partnerships with some of the world’s most recognizable sporting groups to boost its worldwide brand recognition. This operator is building a sponsorship portfolio that mirrors the scale and diversity of global sports. Ranging from clubs like FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain to competitions including LaLiga and Serie A, the focus has been on partnerships with strong sporting relevance and fan engagement. However, collaborating with these high-profile organizations and their loyal, often impressionable fan bases comes with an elevated level of responsibility. Why do sports betting operators partner with top sporting brands? Chris Bird, a media expert recently appointed as a consultant for 1xBet, states that companies should approach these partnerships as equally much reputation-building opportunities as commercial ones. “You shouldn’t enter into a sponsorship like this only focusing on the financial upside,” Bird shared. “These partnerships come with massive visibility and influence, so they also carry a responsibility to protect the reputation of the sport, the sponsor and the fans. “Every action you take must center on doing what’s right, in the proper manner, communicating transparently, and demonstrating that sports sponsorship can be conducted with genuine integrity.” Bird has firsthand experience from both sides of the sponsorship dynamic. In addition to advising operators such as 1xBet and Betfred, he previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Manchester City FC between 1999 and 2003. Since that time, the relationship between professional sports and the gambling industry has frequently made headlines, often facing criticism from advocacy groups who argue that betting companies have grown overly dominant in the sports space. Yet Bird notes that the growing overlap between sport, entertainment and betting reflects genuine fan demand. “There’s no doubt that over the last two decades sport, entertainment and betting have become more closely connected,” he explained. “But the reason for that is quite simple: a share of sports fans enjoy betting on match outcomes. “When you spend time on the terraces, as I did during my years supporting and working at Manchester City and in football more broadly, you realize that for many supporters, betting is simply part of the matchday experience. “This convergence has happened because the fan communities themselves have merged. Fans want excitement and engagement around the game, and betting companies have increasingly delivered that through more interactive, entertaining methods.” What does responsible gambling sponsorship entail? Bird is working closely with 1xBet to help guide the company on responsible gambling practices and how those principles should shape its sponsorship activity. His role, he clarified, focuses on upholding integrity across all sports partnerships. “My work with them is all about ensuring integrity lies at the heart of every sports sponsorship,” he shared. “It’s about asking the right questions: Is this partnership appropriate? Are our messaging responsible? Are we protecting the audience as well as promoting the brand?” Bird’s perspective is also shaped by his work as CEO of the Raheem Sterling Foundation, where he has supported initiatives that engage with individuals and families affected by addiction. “That experience gives you a very real understanding of what happens when things go wrong. It reinforces the need to identify potential problems early and, more importantly, to focus on prevention rather than cure.” Given this background, Bird believes integrity must underpin any project he becomes involved in. “For me, any partnership in this space has to be rooted in integrity and basic decency,” he added. “What I’ve seen from 1xBet is a company that takes the issue of player protection seriously and is thoughtful about how those principles are built into its marketing.” Education, he argues, is central to that approach. “Their thinking recognises that education has to sit right at the top of the agenda,” he said. “If you imagine sponsorship as a pyramid, the commercial element might sit at the top, but the foundation has to be integrity and safeguarding. “As you move up that pyramid, everything is connected. You simply cannot build a strong commercial structure without strong integrity underneath it.” What lies ahead for gambling sponsorship in sports? It is well documented that the Premier League is introducing a voluntary ban on front-of-shirt gambling sponsorship from the start of next season. Many expect those partnerships to shift toward alternatives such as perimeter advertising or training kit sponsorships, although these deals are unlikely to match the financial value of shirt-front partnerships. While the change may impact Premier League clubs, Bird believes the consequences could be more significant further down the football pyramid. “For clubs lower down the leagues from the Championship through to non-league the situation becomes much more complicated,” he said. “If a club like Accrington Stanley or Hyde United receives a sponsorship offer from a betting company and that income allows them to pay staff, support players, improve facilities and invest in grassroots football, that funding can genuinely help secure the club’s future. “The question then becomes, should they automatically have to turn that opportunity down?” Bird believes that outright bans may not necessarily provide the most effective route to protecting fans. “There is still a place in sport for reputable betting companies that operate responsibly and with integrity,” he concluded. “But those companies must demonstrate that they are serious about education, player protection and duty of care. If those principles are clearly embedded, then betting partnerships can still exist in sport in a way that is both responsible and sustainable.” This article is provided by a third-party. Sportradar Denies Short Seller Claims, Vows to Fight Back as Shares Fall
(AsiaGameHub) - Sportradar has declared its firm intention to dispute accusations of its involvement with illicit gambling activities, following a significant drop in its share price due to these claims. Reports from two investment research companies, Callisto Research and Muddy Waters, allege that Sportradar has been supplying services to unlawful operators, even as it offers integrity services to legitimate businesses and sports bodies. Both Callisto and Muddy Waters have taken short positions on Sportradar's stock, effectively wagering on a decrease in its value. These two firms operate as short sellers, establishing short positions in companies and then releasing critical research and allegations, which typically result in a fall in share price. This strategy has proven successful for the pair concerning Sportradar. By 4pm BST on April 22, 2026, Sportradar’s stock price on the New York Nasdaq had decreased by 22.75% to $13 per share, a notable drop from its average of $16-$18 over the preceding five days. Allegations from Short Sellers The accusations from Muddy Waters and Callisto Research are extensive, but fundamentally charge Sportradar with hypocrisy: offering its integrity monitoring services to regulated entities while simultaneously selling other services to unlawful operators. Muddy Waters asserts that it dispatched representatives to Sportradar’s booth at the ICE trade show in Barcelona earlier this year. These representatives posed as members of a newly established betting firm targeting Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and China. Online sports wagering is prohibited in three of these four nations, and in Vietnam, it is limited solely to horse racing, greyhound racing, and international football fixtures. Muddy Waters claims that “not a single Sportradar salesperson declined” their inquiry, and that their representatives were later directed to a Sportradar salesperson specializing in Asia. Callisto, for its part, alleges that between 30% and 40% of Sportradar’s revenue might originate from unregulated markets. It also claims to have presented its findings to European and North American regulators, stating that three of these have initiated investigations. “We contend that Sportradar will face a choice: either forgo its earnings from illegal operators or risk losing its licenses in Europe and North America,” Callisto states. Sportradar Responds Sportradar holds integrity partnerships with numerous prominent sports organizations, such as FIFA, UEFA, the National Basketball Association (NBA), National Hockey League (NHL), and Major League Baseball (MLB). Accusations of collaboration with illicit firms—operators frequently linked to match-fixing—pose a significant danger to Sportradar’s global integrity operations. This also emerges as regulators and governments worldwide are dedicating increased resources to combating the black market. For instance, the UK has established a taskforce against illegal gambling. Leading operators such as Flutter Entertainment and Entain have openly advocated for stricter measures against black market activities, and the involvement of Asian-focused, non-UK licensed bookmakers in the English Premier League has sparked debate in the nation. Claims that Sportradar is engaging with companies in this sector could harm the Swiss firm’s relationships with some of the largest licensed gambling operators. It is anticipated that the company will vigorously contest these allegations. A statement from Sportradar asserted, “The short reports released today contain numerous factual inaccuracies regarding Sportradar, and we unequivocally dispute these claims.” “These reports exhibit a profound misinterpretation of our business and the industry, and were penned by short sellers aiming to diminish shareholder value and profit from market volatility.” “Sportradar collaborates solely with licensed operators, adheres to stringent global compliance and due diligence protocols, and we uphold our independently audited financial statements, risk disclosures, and the information supplied to investors and regulators.” “We conduct our operations in accordance with the highest ethical standards, consistent with Sportradar’s policies and all relevant laws and regulations.” This article is provided by a third-party. New Zealand Bill on iGaming Regulation Clears Final Reading
(AsiaGameHub) - New Zealand’s legislation to govern online gambling has cleared its final parliamentary hurdle and is now awaiting Royal Assent. The existing Gambling Act, which dates back to 2003, has long been a point of contention due to a regulatory gap that permitted domestic users to access offshore online gambling platforms. The incoming regulatory structure paves the way for a market launch featuring 15 online gambling permits, fostering a competitive landscape similar to other established international gaming jurisdictions. Internal Affairs Minister Brooke van Velden stated: “The Bill…supports the coalition agreement by closing the gambling tax loophole and requiring licensed online casino operators to pay tax, just like any other business operating in New Zealand.” The legislation introduces requirements for player protection systems, tax structures for permit holders, and legal consequences for non-compliance, including fines reaching up to NZ $5m (£2.1m) for significant or recurring violations. “Under the new framework, up to 15 licences will be available through a competitive process. Licensed operators will be required to exclude problem gamblers, and meet strict harm prevention and consumer protection requirements,” van Velden added. “These tools will ensure that New Zealand law applies to all online casino gambling available in New Zealand, regardless of where operators are located, closing off avenues for avoidance and strengthening the regulator’s ability to monitor and enforce compliance by international operators.” Furthermore, following extensive advocacy from Labor MPs, the bill incorporates mandatory requirements to allocate a portion of the revenue generated by licensed online operators toward community initiatives across New Zealand. “Submissions on this Bill made it clear that New Zealanders also want the benefits from the online casino gambling to flow back to local sports clubs, community groups, and grassroots organisations. This Bill delivers on that expectation,” the Minister noted. Royal Assent is anticipated on 1 May. The current schedule aims to begin accepting licence applications on 1 December, with the 15 successful bidders slated to commence operations on 1 July 2027. At present, Entain possesses an exclusive permit to provide sports betting via TAB NZ’s local operations. The international gambling firm has previously indicated its intention to secure three of the 15 available licences. Conversely, SkyCity Entertainment Group, the nation’s primary land-based casino operator, may be less optimistic. The firm had previously communicated its reservations to van Velden regarding the introduction of a multi-licence online casino market. This article is provided by a third-party. Altenar and Racing and Sports join forces to bolster the horse racing industry
(AsiaGameHub) - Australian-listed company Racing and Sports has confirmed a new partnership with sportsbook and iGaming platform provider Altenar. This agreement represents the final stage of a relationship spanning several years and a major advancement for distributing racing content on worldwide sportsbook platforms. The announcement coincides with increasing demand for premium, integrated racing products. This trend is evident in markets like the UK, where, despite current challenges, horse and greyhound racing continue to be essential parts of the betting landscape. For Altenar's growing operator network, the collaboration signals a strategic change in its approach to the racing vertical, with Racing and Sports enlisted to provide a comprehensive, end-to-end solution. During an 18-month collaboration, the partners worked to outline the ideal modern racing product, carefully weighing content depth, integration simplicity, and commercial performance. The outcome, according to the companies, is a unified offering that merges official data, editorial content, and pricing services via one single integration. “After a relationship that has developed over many years, we are tremendously proud to officially partner with Altenar,” stated Jack Kelliher, Commercial Director at Racing and Sports. “Ever since we established our UK operations, we were confident that Altenar was a company we could generate significant value alongside. “This is far more than simply incorporating racing content for Altenar. It is about equipping their partners with a more robust, commercially competitive product in a market where racing is indispensable.” Thanks to direct agreements with major rights holders such as Racecourse Media Group (RMG), Arena Racing Company (ARC), PMU, SIS, and 1/ST Content, the integration offers access to a wide array of official racing data and content in numerous jurisdictions. Forest City Malaysia 2026: The Truth Behind the “Ghost City” Label
EQS via SeaPRwire.com / 23/04/2026 / 15:40 UTC+8 What government gazettes, rental figures, and third-party rankings reveal about the Johor mega-development in 2026 The “ghost city” label applied to Forest City Malaysia is factually outdated. Here is what the current data shows. Few labels in Southeast Asian real estate have proven as persistent—or as polarising—as the “ghost city” tag attached to Forest City, the US$100 billion mega-development rising from land in Johor, Malaysia. International media, from the BBC to viral YouTube documentaries, broadcast images of empty boulevards and unoccupied towers, cementing a narrative that has followed the project for years. Conditions have demonstrably shifted. Since the Malaysian government gazetted the Forest City Special Financial Zone (SFZ) in 2024, tying the development to the broader Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JSSEZ), key metrics have shifted materially. Businesses have been moving in. The city now has close to 20,000 residents. Forest City Golf Resort’s “Classic Course” has ranked in the “Top 100 Golf Courses in Asia” for seven consecutive years (2020–2026), and the “Legacy Course,” designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus and his son Jack Nicklaus II, ranked 49th in the “2024–2025 Asia-Pacific Top 100 Golf Courses” list. Moreover, new amenities spanning beach access, mangrove ecotours, sea fishing, and licensed firework stalls, are drawing a widening visitor base. Early coverage captured a moment. But current data, onsite observation, and independent rankings show sustained activity. This article traces how the “ghost city” label took hold, examines what has changed, and assesses what the data reveals about Forest City today. Where Did the “Ghost City” Label Come From? The label did not appear out of nowhere. It reflected real conditions at a particular point in Forest City’s project lifecycle, shaped by policy shifts, pandemic disruption, and the timing of international media coverage. 2014 to 2018: Forest City launched with a focus on Chinese mainland buyers and highly visible cross-border marketing. Construction was in its early phases, with residential towers and core amenities coming online in stages. 2018 to 2020: Then-Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad tightened rules on foreign property purchases, cooling Chinese demand and affecting the original sales cadence. 2020 to 2022: COVID‑19 border closures cut off key buyer and visitor markets. Occupancy remained low while construction continued. International outlets filmed during this lull, capturing a large amount of specific footage. 2023 to 2024: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim backed Forest City as part of a national SFZ strategy tied to the JSSEZ. Policy measures formalised a strategic pivot from a primarily residential development toward a mixed-use hub for financial services, family offices, and incentives for skilled professionals. This marked the turning point. The question, then, is what Forest City looks like when assessed against current data rather than footage from 2020. How is Forest City now? As of 2026, Forest City functions as an active, occupied community with verifiable resident and visitor figures. The development comprises 26,000 completed units, around 80% sold, supporting close to 20,000 residents from over 20 nationalities. Commercial activity has expanded, with over 100 retail outlets in operation spread across a 30,000 m2 shopping mall in the Finance Centre and Fisherman Wharf Commercial Street on the coast. Daily footfall is visible along the 4 km developed coastline, where operators run mangrove eco-tours and sea fishing excursions. Golf remains a major draw, with a growing number of golfers visiting Forest City’s highly acclaimed courses in recent years. Forest City Malaysia today. The development's residential towers — home to more than 15,000 residents from over 20 nationalities — are fully operational, 2 km from Singapore by straight line. Key activity metrics from 2024–2026 indicate a materially different picture from media coverage from the 2018–2022 period: Metric 2020–2022 (Media Coverage Period) 2024–2026 (Current) Residents Low occupancy during construction Around 20,000 from 20+ countries Office rental rate RM1.50/sq ft RM5.50/sq ft (+267%) Office occupancy — 59% (50,000 sq ft launched) Tourism facilities Non-operational Golf resort, hotels, mangrove tours, sea fishing, 4 km coastline, 8 km cycling path, wedding venue, water park, shopping mall, commercial street, and more International schools — International school (in CAT Global Schools network) offering education from kindergarten to high school Tourist arrivals Near zero (COVID closures) Over 3 million tourists per year The development once labelled a “ghost town” now reports over RM790 million in cumulative tax contributions to the Malaysian government, contributed RM53 million to Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) programmes, formed partnerships with more than 190 local enterprises, and directed over RM140 million to environmental initiatives such as mangrove and seagrass conservation. What Changed? The Special Financial Zone Effect In 2024, the Malaysian government designated Forest City as a SFZ within the JSSEZ, shifting the project from a developer-led residential project to a government-anchored economic strategy with bilateral backing. The designation set out clear incentives: 0% tax on qualifying family office investment income for an initial 10-year period, extendable by a further 10 years for eligible entities. 5% corporate tax for qualifying institutions in finance, technology, and other select industries for 20 years. 15% personal income tax for skilled knowledge workers. Minimum assets under management (AUM) of RM30 million for family office eligibility. These terms changed behaviour. On the private side, six family offices have secured approval, reporting a combined RM400 million in assets. The government’s target for the SFZ is RM2 billion in AUM by end-2026. Office leasing followed. Asking rents rose from RM1.50 to RM5.50 per sq ft, a 267% increase, and the first 50,000 sq ft of commercial space has reached 59% occupancy. These figures suggest market-driven pricing rather than promotional positioning. The bilateral context also matters. Singapore’s formal endorsement of the JSSEZ framework extends policy credibility beyond Malaysia’s domestic political cycle, positioning Forest City as a cross-border asset in the early stages of valuation normalisation. For investors accustomed to assessing sovereign risk, the joint commitment from both governments represents a meaningful de-risking signal. Who Actually Lives in Forest City Today? Demographic data as of 2026 indicates a more diverse residential base than the project’s early China-focused marketing might suggest. More than 15,000 residents from over 20 nationalities now call Forest City home, making it a mixed international community rather than a single-market enclave. Daily infrastructure has matured to support settled living. Retail and F&B outlets are equipped to serve resident and visitor needs daily, covering everything from groceries and dining to medical services and furniture. For most residents, evenings no longer require the 25-minute drive to Johor Bahru’s commercial centres. Education has also emerged as a primary draw for families. Forest City International School, established in 2018 as the Malaysia flagship campus of CATS Global Schools, is a renowned American style K12 boarding school that offers education from kindergarten through high school. Over half of teaching staff is recruited from overseas, all of them have over five years of teaching experience, and 60% have master’s or doctoral degrees. The Class of 2025 at Forest City International School has achieved outstanding results, securing admissions from 17 world-renowned institutions. These include University College London, Nanyang Technological University, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Toronto, the University of British Columbia, Seoul National University, Korea University, Yonsei University, the University of Tokyo, University of the Arts London, and Savannah College of Art and Design, a metric that speaks to educational outcomes rather than enrolment marketing alone. The city’s rhythm is visible in regular festivals, sports meets, and cultural gatherings that serve both expatriate and Malaysian families. In a Channel News Asia (CNA) Insider video feature about Forest City, interviewee Nizam noted: “There were many bad reviews about Forest City. So, I think now people know and they’ve seen for themselves how the condition actually is. It’s very crowded.” Much of this consolidation follows the SFZ designation, which has translated population growth into a more settled pattern of community life. A community event at Forest City's beachfront. The development hosts more than 100 international events and tournaments annually, including the Challenge Malaysia triathlon scheduled for June 2026. What is There Actually to Do in Forest City? Beyond policy mechanics, Forest City now operates functioning tourism and leisure infrastructure. Facilities and activities now in operation: Golf resort: The “Classic Course” has ranked in the “Top 100 Golf Courses in Asia” for seven consecutive years (2020–2026), and the “Legacy Course,” designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus and his son Jack Nicklaus II, was ranked 49th in the “2024–2025 Asia-Pacific Top 100 Golf Courses” list by China’s largest golf platform, Cloud Golf. Hotels: Two five-star properties, the Forest City Marina Hotel and Forest City Golf Hotel, offer full resort amenities for short stays and extended visits, supporting both leisure tourism and business travel tied to the SFZ. Mangrove tours: Guided mangrove tours operate within the adjoining 2.86 million m² green corridor, accessible via registered boat operators. The ecosystem hosts more than 400 documented plant and animal species. Recreational sea fishing is available along the waterfront and offshore. Sea fishing: Recreational sea- fishing along the waterfront and offshore for ocean lovers seeking wave-breaking fun and deep-sea adventure. Flexible two- or four-person packages with selected meals are available. Coastline: Approximately 4 km of developed beachfront includes public access, a waterfront promenade, and recreational facilities, including a dedicated wedding venue. Proximity to Singapore: Forest City sits roughly 2 km from Singapore in a straight line—approximately 40 minutes by car to Singapore’s CBD—making it comfortable for day trips and weekend visits from the city-state. Events calendar: More than 100 international events and tournaments run annually across golf, leisure, and cultural categories. The Challenge Malaysia triathlon is scheduled for June 2026, adding to a growing roster of marquee fixtures. For visitors, the most visible change is practical access to the environment. Forest City sets aside 2.86 million m² of green space, with more than 400 documented plant and animal species. It has also earned more than 40 international awards across urban planning, sustainability, and hospitality, with many of its buildings now LEED-certified. These elements shape a credible on-the-ground itinerary. Forest City Golf Resort. The Classic Course has ranked in Asia's Top 100 Golf Courses for seven consecutive years (2020–2026); the Legacy Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, placed 49th in the 2024–2025 Asia-Pacific Top 100. The resort hosts more than 100 international tournaments annually. Why is the Malaysian Government Invested in Making This Work? Forest City’s trajectory reflects an increasingly visible alignment between public policy and private capital, a convergence that has translated political rhetoric into legislative action and physical infrastructure. Institutional presence signals intent on the ground: The Malaysia Investment Facilitation Centre (IMFC) has established operations in Forest City, with more than 10 government agencies co-located there, indicating active use rather than abandonment. Reported returns to the state are quantifiable: Over RM790 million in taxes paid, 10,000 jobs created, partnerships with over 190 local enterprises, RM53 million put into CSR initiatives, and RM140 million directed towards environmental work. These figures suggest the public-private model is producing an auditable dividend. Connectivity spending is consistent with the policy stance: The Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link is scheduled for completion in late 2026. The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail continues to progress through development phases. A sea-based LRT system proposed by the Sultan of Johor aims to alleviate chronic checkpoint congestion at the causeway. Conclusion The “ghost city” label captured a window from 2018 to 2022, when construction dominated, borders were shut, and policy cooled demand. That window has closed. For prospective visitors, day trips and weekend stays are now practical options. For prospective residents, liveability can be assessed against current infrastructure rather than dated impressions. For investors, six approved family offices operating under enacted SFZ rules represent early-stage validation of the policy framework. The 2026 picture is measurably different: a designated SFZ with enacted legislation, institutional tenants in place, office space leasing at market rates, close to 20,000 residents across 26,000 completed homes, and a tourism and events ecosystem built around highly acclaimed golf courses and 4 km of developed coastline. The evidence is on the record. Government gazettes, third-party rankings, tax remittance data, occupancy figures, and current on-the-ground conditions offer a more complete picture than media footage from the construction phase. For stakeholders navigating Southeast Asian investment opportunities, or the Johor-Singapore corridor more specifically, the gap between the “ghost city” legacy and 2026’s fiscal reality is now empirically vast. While SFZ benchmarks and rising lease yields provide a valid analytical foundation, a site visit remains the ultimate form of due diligence. Seeing the city’s current operations firsthand is the best way to reconcile past headlines with the SFZ’s tangible economic momentum. 23/04/2026 Dissemination of a Financial Press Release, transmitted by EQS News. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.Media archive at www.todayir.com
2026’s Most Unexpected Video Game Film Blockbuster Is Quietly Transforming The Industry
Markiplier Studios(SeaPRwire) - In recent years, Hollywood has seen a surge in YouTube creators transitioning from short-form digital content to feature-length narrative filmmaking. Over the past six years, we have seen the Philippou brothers—the comedy and special effects team known as RackaRacka—release Talk to Me and Bring Her Back, alongside film critic Chris Stuckmann’s Shelby Oaks, which debuted last year. This trend has continued into 2026 with the upcoming Backrooms adaptation from 20-year-old director Kane Parsons, as well as one of the year's top-earning horror movies: Iron Lung, directed by Mark Fischbach, widely known as the streamer Markiplier.Based on the hit video game of the same name, Iron Lung centers on a convict named Simon in a post-apocalyptic future where a phenomenon called the “Quiet Rapture” has caused most planets and stars to disappear. Tasked with piloting a decaying submarine through an ocean of blood on a remote moon, Simon soon realizes he is not the only entity lurking in the depths. The film, which was self-distributed by Markiplier, became a major box office success, earning over $50 million against a $3 million budget. It serves as a testament to the potential of independent cinema—a model the streamer now intends to apply to the film distribution sector.Self-distributing a film isn’t an easy decision, but Iron Lung proved that in some cases it can be an immensely successful one. | Markiplier StudiosAs reported by Bloody Disgusting, citing a video from Fischbach himself, the director intends to manage both digital and physical distribution independently, following the success of his theatrical release through Markiplier Studios. His strategy involves establishing a digital aggregator to host Iron Lung on YouTube’s Film and TV platform, with the goal of providing a space for other independent filmmakers to distribute their work as well. For physical media, Markiplier is taking a DIY approach: he plans to install a DVD/Blu-ray production unit in his home, which will be featured in future videos, to manufacture copies for sale directly to fans. For independent creators, securing distribution is often as difficult as the fundraising and production phases; many completed films languish or go unreleased due to a lack of industry support. Markiplier’s initiative would not only bring Iron Lung to a wider audience but could also dismantle the traditional barriers of the Hollywood distribution system, offering artists a new path to reach viewers. While the plan is not yet finalized—Fischbach notes he is in the final stages of negotiations with YouTube—its success could represent a significant transformation in how the film industry operates. There is no set VOD or Blu-ray release date yet for Iron Lung. DCU’s Upcoming Film Hints at a Startling Body Horror Twist
DC Studios(SeaPRwire) - Having faith in a long-term plan is difficult when dealing with a major movie series. This is especially true for a franchise that has been restarted multiple times, such as the DC Universe, where confidence is even scarcer. While director James Gunn undoubtedly possesses a vision for superhero narratives, the desire for a cohesive cinematic world that is both visually impressive and faithful to the comics has been intense for a long time. Audiences are seeking a solid base for the DC Universe's heroes and villains. They are eager to see Batman; above all, they want a glimpse of the DCU's interpretation of Gotham City at the earliest opportunity. While a live-action Batman may not arrive for a while, the DCU will soon offer the next closest alternative—complete with a compelling horror angle. Following Supergirl's theatrical release this summer, the DC Universe will shift from the bright skies of Metropolis to the shadows of Gotham City. However, instead of centering on Batman and his vigilantism, Clayface will delve into a more realistic part of this corrupt setting, exploring the chilling backstory of a notorious Batman foe.The initial teaser from DC Studios for Clayface provides a glimpse of the new Gotham City, yet that is overshadowed by the moments of body horror featured in the preview. Indeed, Clayface will be the inaugural horror film within the DC Universe. Tom Rhys Harris portrays Matt Hagen, a role fans will likely remember from Batman: The Animated Series. Although Hagen was not the original Clayface (that distinction goes to Basil Karlo), he was the first to exhibit the shapeshifting abilities now synonymous with the villain, largely due to his portrayal in The Animated Series. The film Clayface will depict the macabre genesis of these powers. According to the official summary, the story "chronicles one man's terrifying fall from promising Hollywood actor to a monster driven by vengeance." After a vicious assault robs Hagen of his leading-man appearance, he seeks a solution from a cutting-edge pharmaceutical firm. The issue, naturally, is that their experimental treatment is excessively effective. His face is not healed but rather mutated into a pliable, clay-like material. These new abilities aid his mission for retribution but also permanently sever his connection to his former existence.Clayface remains largely secretive about its storyline, but its debut teaser effectively addresses skepticism regarding this new chapter for the DCU. Batman—or other figures from his gallery of villains—might be lurking in Gotham during Hagen's "descent," but director James Watkins has shaped a narrative designed to be self-sufficient. This is an unconventional method to welcome fans back to this segment of the DC Universe, yet with Clayface at the forefront, we may witness the most grim depiction of Gotham to date... which is a thrilling prospect.Clayface arrives in theaters on October 23. Danielle Cage? 7 Years Later, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Resolves An Unresolved Netflix Plot
Marvel Studios(SeaPRwire) - One of the most beloved strengths of the original Netflix Defenders series was how well they recreated the interconnected synergy of the MCU’s film branch for streaming television. Just like in the source comics, it feels deeply satisfying to watch Foggy Nelson cameo in Jessica Jones, or see Claire Temple move between the casts of Daredevil and Luke Cage. This approach lets audiences feel that these worlds are lived-in and all these characters share the same space, which avoids the common issue the MCU has faced recently: telling viewers the universe is connected without actually showing that connection. However, when all of these original shows were canceled roughly six years ago, the Defenders stepped off-screen for a time, leaving behind countless unresolved plot and relationship threads from their runs. When the revival series Daredevil: Born Again first launched, fans wondered whether Matt Murdock’s old allies would join him for his official jump into the wider MCU. Now that we have official confirmation that they will return in the show’s third season, it’s very likely that the backstories of Luke, Jessica, and Danny will stay mostly intact, just like Daredevil’s has. And with the release of episode 6 of Born Again’s second season, we know that at least one major storyline from the old Netflix shows — a plotline that’s central in the comics — is getting a meaningful follow-up in this new series.Jessica Jones’ return in episode 6 of Born Again finally brings her relationship with Luke Cage full circle. | NetflixWarning! Spoilers ahead for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Episode 6.In the latest episode, during an attack on Jessica’s suburban home planned by the mysterious Mr. Charles, it is revealed that Jessica Jones now has a daughter named Danielle, named in honor of her godfather Danny Rand. It is clear that the young girl, played by twin actors Anabelle Ivlev and Isabella Ivlev, is Jessica and Luke Cage’s child. Though Luke does not appear in the episode, if Jessica’s catch-up conversation with Matt is taken at face value, his absence is likely because the hero of Harlem is currently working for the U.S. government.Who is Danielle Cage In The Comics? In a dystopian alternate future ravaged by Thanos and Ultron, Dani Cage inherits the mantle of Captain America. | Marvel ComicsIn the original comic source material, Danielle was conceived after a drunken one-night encounter between Luke and Jessica. When Jessica found out she was pregnant, she ended things with her then-boyfriend Scott Lang, which pushed Luke to admit his feelings for her. Danielle was officially born in 2006’s The Pulse #16, and her parents married in New Avengers Annual #1. Even though Danielle is only three years old in Marvel’s mainline comic canon, she has already been a core part of multiple storylines — Jessica Jones: Purple Daughter, a three-issue limited digital series, sees Danielle suddenly develop purple skin, forcing Jessica to confront the possibility that her daughter is connected to her abuser Zebediah Kilgrave, also known as the Purple Man. There is also an alternate-universe version of Danielle from Earth-15061, first introduced in the 2015 Ultron Forever event. She comes from a future where Thanos kills most of Earth’s heroes, including her parents; after training with Natasha Romanoff, Danielle becomes the new Captain America. She wields Captain America’s shield, and is also a living shield herself thanks to the unbreakable skin she inherited from her father. In the 20 years since Luke and Jessica married in the comics, they have become one of the most popular couples not just in Marvel Comics, but across all of superhero comics. And Danielle was the catalyst that turned their long-running romance into an official union, recognized both legally and by their fellow Avengers. What Does Danielle’s Existence Mean For The Future? While we still don’t know for sure if Luke and Jessica are married in the current MCU, the fact that Danielle exists now is the perfect conclusion to Luke and Jessica’s will-they-won’t-they romance from the Netflix shows, and their new roles as superhero parents open up a natural, exciting new path for both characters. If their confirmed appearance in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is any indication, we could see much more of the couple — and Danielle — in MCU stories going forward.New episodes of Daredevil: Born Again premiere every Tuesday on Disney+. Ex-mexican beauty queen found dead; investigators looking into possible family connection: reports
(SeaPRwire) - Per local reports, a former Mexican beauty pageant titleholder was found fatally shot inside her Mexico City apartment, as investigators look into the potential involvement of her mother-in-law in the case. 27-year-old Carolina Flores Gómez was discovered dead inside an apartment in the Polanco neighborhood, one of the most upscale districts in the city, according to reporting from Reporte Índigo, a Mexico-based news outlet. Authorities confirmed the death is being treated as a homicide, after initial findings showed she sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency responders were summoned to the site, where paramedics confirmed she had no vital signs. Prosecutors are probing whether Flores Gómez’s mother-in-law Erika María, alongside a man referred to in reports as her partner or husband, may have had a role in her death. Mexican news outlet Azteca Guerrero reported that the man, identified as Alejandro, has accused his mother of killing Flores Gómez. The same outlet also noted that the victim’s mother-in-law was present at the scene when the gunshot was fired, and that authorities are reviewing the timeline of when the incident was formally reported. Preliminary reports cited by Mexican news outlet Diario Puntual show that a security guard at the apartment building did not hear any gunshots, adding ambiguity to the details of how the crime unfolded. Diario Puntual also reported that authorities in Baja California, Mexico, have also taken action related to the case. Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda expressed solidarity with the victim’s relatives and called for full clarity to be brought to the case. State prosecutor María Elena Andrade Ramírez also stated that they are coordinating with Mexico City authorities to provide support for the investigation. Flores Gómez had participated in beauty pageants previously, and was crowned Miss Teen Universe Baja California in 2017. The case has drawn widespread attention across Mexico amid continued public concerns over violence targeting women, with advocacy groups calling for a comprehensive investigation into all circumstances surrounding her death. The investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing. This article is provided by a third-party content provider. ‘Evil Dead Burn’ Trailer Shows Sequel Arriving Earlier Than Expected
Image source: YouTube(SeaPRwire) - Over the span of 45 years, the Evil Dead franchise has only released five films, making it one of the few horror series that can boast it has never put out a poorly received installment... so far. The closest the franchise has come to a critical letdown was the 2013 dark, gritty Evil Dead reboot helmed by Fede Alvarez; that film earned a lukewarm 64 percent score from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, though 2023’s Evil Dead Rise, directed by Lee Cronin (you may recognize him for Lee Cronin’s The Mummy), won both groups back with a solid 85 percent critic and 75 percent audience rating split.Next to the 10-year gap between the two prior Evil Dead films, the three-year stretch between Evil Dead Rise and the upcoming sixth entry in the film franchise (don’t forget the separate Ash Vs. Evil Dead series exists), Evil Dead Burn, feels barely noticeable. Upholding another longstanding franchise tradition of lifting up emerging horror filmmakers, French director Sébastien Vaniček is leading this new release, following his eerie 2023 debut feature Infested. That film was set in the tight, cramped space of a suburban Paris high-rise apartment block, and was filled with the creative camera work and high-stakes horror action that have come to define modern Evil Dead titles. The first teaser for Evil Dead Burn carries that same urgent energy, tracking a woman played by Swiss actress Souheila Yacoub in a single, uncut shot as she wakes up with a head wound in a dim, dusty house, then crawls across a living room floor, twisting and ducking out of the way as Deadite chaos erupts all around her. Similar to Infested, the teaser hints at a non-stop, high-intensity viewing experience — the soundtrack is dominated by screams and crashing noises, layered under Yacoub’s frantic gasps — making use of the larger budget that comes with a major American studio production. The stunt work is particularly striking, as characters dart in and out of the frame before being grabbed and dragged off (or hurled through furniture) by ravenous Deadites. The only notable potential drawback is that the cinematography is very dim, making the action hard to make out on all but the most perfectly calibrated screens.Warner Bros. clearly has high confidence in Evil Dead Burn, shifting its release forward two weeks from its original July 24 slot to a new premiere date of July 10. This puts the R-rated horror feature up against Disney’s live-action Moana remake in theaters, though audience overlap between the two titles is expected to be very small. The official synopsis for the film reads as follows: “EVIL DEAD BURN delivers the franchise’s most brutal, bone-chilling ride to date, exploding onto big screens with an all-new chapter of bloodshed and demonic chaos. After her husband passes away, a woman seeks comfort with her in-laws at their remote family home. As household members are turned into Deadites one by one — turning their gathering into a nightmarish family reunion — she learns that the vows she took while alive… remain binding even in death.”Evil Dead Burn will premiere in theaters on July 10. By leveraging blockchain technology, the platform delivers low‑latency mirroring of trades across major decentralized networks worldwide—while keeping users in full control of their own wallets and risk. “FastX was created by traders for traders,” said Adelene, Chief Executive Officer of FastX. “We’ve spent our careers on Wall Street desks and in crypto markets, and we’ve seen the same problems repeat: opaque execution, misaligned incentives, and copytrading systems that ask users to blindly outsource decisions. FastX is our answer—a decentralised, transparent infrastructure layer where traders keep custody, and technology works to augment, not replace, their edge.” Backed by a team of veteran traders with more than 50 years of combined experience across top Wall Street institutions and leading crypto trading firms, FastX is built from the ground up as a decentralised protocol. Users connect their own wallets, maintain self‑custody at all times, and interact with smart contracts that execute trades on‑chain, rather than relying on a centralised broker or custodial exchange. At launch, FastX will offer: Deep, on‑chain liquidity across a wide range of perpetual markets, designed to support serious position sizes with tight spreads and minimal slippage. A fast, intuitive trading interface accessible directly via fastx.co, allowing traders to plug in with their preferred wallet and start trading in minutes. A transparent affiliate and points system that shares a meaningful portion of platform fees with the community and rewards traders and partners who help grow liquidity and volume. The flagship feature of FastX is its next‑generation copytrading system. Unlike traditional social trading products that mirror orders on a single venue with unpredictable delays, FastX’s engine is designed to route and synchronise copy trades across major decentralised exchanges, layering those capabilities on top of FastX’s own liquidity. The result is a copytrading experience that aims to: Minimise latency between lead and follower execution. Mitigate structural risks such as slippage, desync, and obvious forms of manipulation. Exploit decentralised advantages, such as transparent on‑chain track records and programmable risk controls, without turning the platform into a centralised black box. “Copytrading has always been typecast as a blind, autonomous disaster waiting to happen,” Adelene added. “FastX takes the opposite stance. We use technology to bring more transparency, not less—on‑chain track records, built‑in risk parameters, and infrastructure that reduces front‑running and execution games wherever possible. Over time, our goal is to layer AI‑driven intelligence on top of this foundation so that users can benefit from advanced analytics and risk management, rather than just ‘follow and hope’.” FastX is currently seed‑funded by a network of angels deeply embedded in the global crypto trading ecosystem. These backers share a common view that the next generation of markets will be built on open, verifiable rails and that traders deserve better, more transparent instrumentation for expressing and managing risk. GA Ventures and FastX are assembling a strong advisory board of experienced traders, market makers, and technologists to guide the exchange through its next phase of growth. As a decentralised protocol, FastX does not take custody of user funds and does not operate as a traditional broker. All positions, liquidations, and fee flows are visible on‑chain, giving traders clear, verifiable insight into how the system behaves under all market conditions. “Our vision is simple,” said Adelene. “We want professional‑grade perpetuals and intelligent copytrading to live where they belong: on transparent, decentralised infrastructure, not in a black box. Launching FastX on 5 May is the first step. From here, we’ll continue to ship faster execution, smarter tooling, and AI‑enhanced copytrading that helps traders survive and thrive in 24/7 markets.” Traders can learn more and access the exchange at https://fastx.co.
