THE coronavirus disease (Covid-19) positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) has already surpassed the ideal level recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Octa Research group said on Friday, June 24, 2022.Octa fellow Dr. Guido David said the positivity rate of Metro Manila increased from 3.9 percent on June 18 to 5.6 percent on June 22.Positivity rate refers to the number of individuals who test positive for the virus after getting tested.David said the positivity rate in Batangas, Cavite, Iloilo, Laguna and Rizal also surpassed WHO’s benchmark.Batangas’ positivity rate rose from 1.2 percent to 8.3 percent, Cavite from 3.6 percent to 5.7 percent, Iloilo from 4.4 percent to 5.6 percent, Laguna from 3.2 percent to 7.7 percent and Rizal from 6.3 percent to 8.2 percent.The Department of Health said on Wednesday, June 22, that it recorded a notable increase in Covid-19 cases in the country but maintained that it remains under low risk classification considering that healthcare utilization remains low.
