AN AID to the Church in Need (ACN) Ministry in every diocese in the country.This is the aim of the ACN Philippines, as it asked the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) to approve the creation of an office that will help suffering and persecuted Christians in every diocese.“This will mean establishing ACN in your particular church as the ‘ACN Ministry’,” ACN Philippines board member Msgr. Pedro Gerardo Santos told CBCP News.He said doing so will help enhance the efforts and programs of papal charity organization.“We have been providing practical and spiritual support for persecuted and suffering Christians around the world,” Santos noted.To recall, ACN was founded in 1947 as a Catholic aid organization for war refugees. It was recognized as a papal foundation in 2011.Since 2011, ACN Philippines has been supporting the global organization through prayers, projects, and advocacies.Among the ACN’s more known campaigns are the observance of the “One Million Children Praying the Rosary” every October, and the “Red Wednesday” every November.
