Russia’s President commended President Donald Trump for his global peace negotiation endeavors, particularly mentioning his role in mediating a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

“He is truly making significant efforts to address intricate crises that have persisted for years, even decades,” Putin stated during a summit in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, attended by leaders from former Soviet bloc countries.

These comments were made when asked if he believed Trump had been overlooked for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The prize had been awarded that Friday morning to the Venezuelan opposition figure and pro-democracy activist.

“There have been instances where the committee has granted the Nobel Peace Prize to individuals who have contributed nothing to peace,” Putin observed. “Someone appears – regardless of their character – and receives it within a month or two. For what? They accomplished absolutely nothing.

“From my perspective, such decisions have severely damaged the award’s reputation,” he added.

Earlier in September, Trump hinted that he would probably be overlooked for the Nobel Prize once more, even though he had assisted in resolving multiple conflicts.

“If this is successful, we will have eight – eight in eight months. That is quite an accomplishment,” Trump stated while addressing numerous senior generals and admirals. “No one has ever achieved that. Will you receive the Nobel Prize? Definitely not.

“They will award it to someone who did absolutely nothing,” he went on to say. “They will give it to the individual who authored a book exploring Donald Trump’s thought process and the efforts required to end conflicts. The Nobel Prize will be given to an author.”
