Throughout the United States, demonstrators intend to protest the Administration on Labor Day, highlighting support for the nation’s “workers” and opposing the “billionaire takeover.”

Following a pattern observed on U.S. public holidays this year—where thousands demonstrated on Independence Day—activists are again preparing to protest in various cities.

The Administration has historically opposed those protesting it. For instance, on June 14, while the President conducted a national military parade in Washington, D.C., counter-protesters converged for “No Kings” events to “reject authoritarianism.” Prior to these D.C. demonstrations, Trump had cautioned that “people that want to protest will be met with big force,” labeling participants as “people that hate our country.”

Nevertheless, this warning appears to have done little to discourage individuals from exercising their right to protest, with multiple events scheduled for Labor Day, observed on September 1st this year.

Here’s the essential information:

“Workers Over Billionaires” Demonstrations

The May Day Strong action network is extending the movement initiated in May by coordinating protests for September 1st, aiming to “stop the billionaire takeover.”

The organization defines itself as a collective of “working people rising up to stop the billionaire takeover—not solely via elections or legal means, but by cultivating a larger and more robust movement.”

May Day Strong collaborates with numerous partners to facilitate its objectives, with protests anticipated in “thousands of communities nationwide.”

A key partner is the grassroots initiative 50501, short for “50 protests, 50 states, 1 day.” 50501 conducted its initial demonstrations in February, prompted by what the group alleges are “anti-democratic and illegal actions by the Administration and its plutocratic allies.”

The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), an umbrella organization comprising over unions representing almost 15 million workers, also endorses the “Workers Over Billionaires” events.

“During marches, rallies, picnics, and parades, Workers’ Labor Day commemorates working individuals. It also celebrates the collective strength we gain by uniting in a union—the capacity to reclaim our nation for working people, not billionaires,” stated a representative.

A minimum of 765 distinct “Workers Over Billionaire” events are planned throughout the U.S., extending even to the in the Western Pacific Ocean.

In New Jersey, demonstrators “will persist in their resolve, advocating for public schools over private profits, healthcare over hedge funds, and shared prosperity over corporate politics,” as reported by organizers.

“Solidarity September” Events

Women’s March, an organization that coordinates U.S.-wide protests, has released information regarding several “Solidarity September” events scheduled for the month’s first day. Protests are slated to occur nationwide, spanning from to.

The “Solidarity September” activities are designed to continue past Labor Day, with a “Make Billionaires Pay” protest day slated for September 20th.

“Stop billionaires. Invest in our future. Oppose fascists. Safeguard migrants and the global majority. Halt polluters. Protect Mother Earth,” declares a statement from the organization, which asserts that the President and billionaires are “dismantling our democracy, targeting immigrants, enriching war profiteers, and exacerbating the climate crisis.”

“Fight The Trump Takeover” Protests

Several “Fight the Trump Takeover” protests are scheduled for Labor Day. Organizers stated, “We will be protesting in solidarity with the larger demonstrations nationwide.”

Organizers in Gloucester, Massachusetts, announced their intention to “peacefully protest” against Republican gerrymandering.

“Join us this Labor Day to oppose the voter suppression and gerrymandering schemes intended to restrict the influence of your vote and your voice,” states the call to action.

The “Fight The Trump Takeover” protests first occurred on August 16th, in reaction to attempts by Texas Republicans to redraw the state’s district map.

Elaborating on the day of action, organizers claimed: “The President is attempting to compromise the 2026 election by manipulating the system and altering electoral maps. While he began in Texas, his efforts will not conclude there.”
