ACTOR-HOST Ferdinand “Vhong” Navarro will be transferred to Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City following the issuance of a commitment order, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.

The NBI said the commitment order was released by the Regional Trial Court Branch 69.

From the NBI custodial facility, Navarro will be brought to Taguig City Jail under the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.

Navarro was required to undergo complete mandatory health protocols, including a Covid-19 reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test, before his transfer.

In September, Navarro turned himself to the NBI following the issuance of an arrest warrant against him for rape and acts of lasciviousness, charges filed by model Deniece Cornejo in relation to an incident that happened in 2014.

In July, the Court of Appeals (CA) reversed the 2018 and 2020 ruling of the Department of Justice (DOJ) that junked the rape cases filed by Cornejo against Navarro over an incident on January 17, 2014.

The CA also ordered the filing of acts of lasciviousness against Navarro over the January 22, 2014 incident where he allegedly tried to rape Cornejo inside her condo unit in Bonifacio Global City.

Navarro had earlier denied accusations against him. (SunStar Philippines)
