Seasoned nonprofit leader and mental health advocate to focus on service, education & strategic partnerships

Columbia, Maryland, July 19, 2025 – The Rotary Club of Howard West is pleased to announce that Rawle Andrews Jr., Esq., has assumed the role of its new club president, effective July 1, 2025.

President Andrews will guide the club in its dedication to fostering positive change through both local and international service initiatives, as well as thought-provoking leadership events.

Rawle has previously held various leadership positions within the Rotary Club of Howard West, including president-elect and board member. He is currently the executive director of the American Psychiatric Association Foundation, a trustee of the Thurgood Marshall Center Trust, an adjunct law professor at Howard University School of Law, and the national chairman of the public policy committee for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

“This year, our club will primarily concentrate on enhancing professional development opportunities for professionals exploring new career paths and expanding educational opportunities for the youth in our community. We also recognize that increased collaboration with organizations and thought leaders, both within and outside of Rotary, is essential for creating a brighter future throughout Howard County and beyond. Furthermore, we will continue to support Rotary’s commitment to eradicating polio and supporting global health initiatives. While we cannot accomplish everything alone, together we can achieve anything.”
