THE Quiapo Church in Manila is set to hold a motorcade for the image of the Black Nazarene on Good Friday, April 7, 2023, to commemorate His journey before His crucifixion and death.

In a social media post, the Quiapo Church is inviting devotees to participate in the motorcade that will be held by midnight on Good Friday.

“Let us join the Black Nazarene in His journey to the Calvary for our salvation,” said the Quiapo Church.

“We are called to join, reflect and pray during the forthcoming motorcade,” it added.

In a message to reporters, Quiapo Church Spokesperson Fr. Earl Valdez said they expect a large number of devotees to participate in the activity.

“Devotees will come, though not as huge as our crowds during the Nazarene feast. We are preparing for this along with the local government of Manila,” said Valdez.

Asked what will be the route of the motorcade, he said it is still being discussed.

“But surely it will be within the boundaries of the Quiapo Church,” said Valdez.
