SENATOR Emmanuel Pacquiao on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, again vowed to provide free housing for poor Filipinos.

Pacquaio, who has yet to formally announce his plans for the 2022 national elections, said he is targeting to provide housing for 6.7 million families in the next six years.

“Uunahin po natin ‘yung 1.9 million (families) informal settlers,” he said during a press conference after he finished his 10-day facility-based quarantine following his arrival from his boxing match in the United States.

He said providing poor Filipinos with free housing is possible if the government will do away with corruption practices.

He said trillions of pesos from public funds were being stolen each year by corrupt officials.

Earlier, the Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) faction led by Senator Aquilino Pimentel III said they will nominate Pacquiao as the party’s standard bearer for the 2022 national elections.

Their faction is set to convene to announce their party representatives within the month. (SunStar Philippines)
