(UPDATED) A total of 922,898 healthcare workers, senior citizens and persons with comorbidities have been inoculated with a vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines as of April 6, 2021.
The number is only about 36.5 percent of the 2.52 million Sinovac and AstraZeneca doses delivered to the Philippines.
Only 1.936 million doses have been distributed to 2,670 vaccination sites nationwide as of April 6. Less than half, or 47 percent, have been used.
Of the 922,898, the Department of Health said 872,213 persons or 94.5 percent were given their first dose while 50,685 or 5.5 percent have completed the two doses.
The DOH said the seven-day average vaccination is 22,932 individuals.
Only the Bicol region has reached its target of 21,100 vaccinees.
In the National Capital Region, 287,999 of the targeted 545,335 individuals have received their first dose while 21,746 have received both doses.
The Philippines has received a total of 2,525,600 doses of Covid-19 vaccines consisting of 2.0 million from Sinovac and 525,600 doses of AstraZeneca donated through the Covax facility.
Some local governments paused the vaccination of senior citizens after they ran out of AstraZeneca vaccines.
