THE Department of Health (DOH) announced on Monday, August 29, 2022, additional 19,262 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases that were recorded over the past week, an average daily case of 2,752.The DOH said the number of new cases is 19 percent lower than the week prior, or from August 15 to 21.It said 110 cases were severe and critical.The total severe and critical Covid-19 admissions were at 807, 10.5 percent of the total Covid-19 admissions.The DOH also validated an additional of 316 deaths due to Covid-19, of which 113 occurred in August 2022l; 18 in July 2022; two in January 2021 and June 2022; five in May 2022; one in June, February, March, August and September 2021 and April 2022; 63 in February 2022; 104 in January 2022; and three in May 2021.The national non-intensive care utilization rate is at 28.1 percent, while the ICU occupancy is at 24.9 percent.The DOH said 92.80 percent of the target population had been inoculated against Covid-19, as well as 78.10 percent of the senior citizens.It said a total of 72,476,610 individuals have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 while 17,843,348 have received booster doses.
