IN AN era where healthcare has become increasingly transactional, devoid of personal touch and focused solely on the treatment of illnesses, AC Health’s launch of the Healthway Medical Network (HMN) brings a ray of hope. With its promise of “Care Beyond Cure,” HMN aims to revolutionize the patient experience, emphasizing holistic and patient-centric healthcare throughout the entire journey.

Gone are the days when healthcare was confined to individual clinics and hospitals, each operating independently without a cohesive approach. HMN has taken a bold step by integrating all its hospitals and clinics under the Healthway brand, signaling a shift toward a comprehensive and unified patient journey. This integration ensures that patients receive consistent care across all touchpoints, with a focus on their overall well-being.

Central to HMN’s approach is the introduction of Connected Care Circles (CCC), a groundbreaking model of integrated multidisciplinary team care. Drawing inspiration from global best practices, CCC emphasizes coordinated continuity of services throughout the patient journey, transcending geographical boundaries and facility limitations. This innovative model ensures that patients receive seamless care, regardless of the HMN facility they visit.

The recent ceremonial signage lighting of Healthway QualiMed Hospital Santa Rosa marked the announcement of this new identity for AC Health’s hospitals and clinics. The event was graced by prominent Ayala officials, including Ayala Corporation Adviser to the Board, Fernando Zobel de Ayala (FZA), AC Health President/CEO Paolo Borromeo, HMN President/CEO Jimmy Ysmael, AC Health Director Eric Francia, QualiMed Health Network Group COO Dr. Margaret Bengzon, and representatives from various sectors and hospital patrons. Their presence highlights the significance of this transformative endeavor in the healthcare landscape.

President/CEO Jimmy Ysmael aptly captured the essence of HMN’s vision, stating, “At Healthway, we believe that Care Beyond Cure is not simply an empty slogan, but a guiding principle.” Ysmael explains that this statement embodies a profound understanding that patients are more than their medical conditions. They are unique individuals with stories, experiences, and emotions that deserve utmost consideration. HMN’s integration of clinics and hospitals signifies a commitment to providing the highest quality of care, where the focus lies not only on treatin illnesses but on embracing the entirety of the person.

In a roundtable discussion, Ayala Corporation Board Adviser Fernando Zobel de Ayala reiterated the group’s commitment to investing in healthcare, underscoring the importance of prioritizing the well-being of individuals. The panel discussion, expertly moderated by Dr. Isabel Nabor Umali, featured valuable insights from patient-caregiver Tess Valero, patient Sebastian Schaffer, obstetrician Dr. Rani Cadiz, and Chief Public Health Officer and COO of Healthway QualiMed Manila, Dr. Ma. Carissa Alejandro. Their presence symbolizes the collaborative effort required to revolutionize healthcare and prioritize patient-centric approaches.
