SEVEN areas in the National Capital Region (NCR) are currently seeing growth in coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).In a statement, the DOH said that seven of the 17 areas in Metro Manila have seen positive growth rates in recent weeks.”One area, Pasig City, is at low-risk case classification due to an increase of 17 cases in the recent two weeks with 69 total active cases,” said the DOH.”Six other areas showed positive growth in cases in the recent one week. These are Muntinlupa, Pasay, Quezon City, Caloocan, Marikina, and Pateros,” it added.The health department stressed, though, that on the overall, Metro Manila is still under low-risk classification.”All areas in NCR still maintain low-risk average daily attack rates and have less than 180 active cases,” said the DOH.The reported increase in cases came a day after the DOH declared a local transmission of the Covid-19 Omicron subvariant BA.2.12.1.Data showed that Omicron subvariant BA.2.12.1 has been detected in the NCR.
