AROUND five million Filipinos are being eyed for inoculation during the three-day “National Vaccination Day” being prepared by the National Government, said the Department of Health (DOH).

In a virtual press briefing Friday, November 5, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the government is already preparing for the holding of the mass vaccination drive.

“We are now in the initial planning and coordination stages for the national vaccination days,” she said.

“It will be a whole of government activity, with all agencies being mobilized to help reach the target of 5 million,” she added.

Vergeire noted that the event will be looking to bring the vaccination outside the regular sites, such as department stores and other public places.

She said they have also enlisted the help of healthcare workers from the public and private sectors, as well as those self-employed and different medical societies.

The health official said they are also tapping local government units to undertake massive information drive regarding the event.

Vergeire said they will also do “intensive” information campaign in the mainstream and social media.

Earlier, National Task Force Against Covid-19 Chief Carlito Galvez Jr. bared the government’s plan to conduct a three-day “National Vaccination Day” event.

As of November 4, about 28.7 million Filipinos have already been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, while 33.7 million are partially vaccinated. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
