FIVE areas in the National Capital Region (NCR) that were earlier declared as under moderate risk for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) has reverted back to low risk classification following the modification of the matrix for the identification of risk classification of an area.Department of Health (DOH) spokesperson Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the cities of Pasig, San Juan, Quezon and Marikina, and the municipality of Pateros are now under low risk based on the revised metrics.“Mapupunta po sila ulit sa low risk dahil ‘yung kanilang average daily attack rate ay hindi pa lumalagpas ng six at saka ‘yung kanilang healthcare utilization naman is less than 50 percent,” Vergeire said in a Laging Handa public briefing Wednesday, June 29, 2022.“Mas importante ho sa’ting lahat ang mga nao-ospital, ang pagkapuno ng mga ospital, at saka ang severe at critical cases,” she added. The Inter-Agency Task Force removed the two-week growth rate in the equation for the determination of case risk classification, while the average daily attack rate (Adar) and the healthcare utilization were retained. An area is considered under moderate risk if its hospital utilization is above 50 percent, while the Adar is at the average of six per day in every 100,000 population.Areas under low risk have hospital utilization lower than 50 percent and Adar of less than one per 100,000 population. The entire Metro Manila remains under Alert Level 1 from July 1 to 15.
