THE Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) released on Thursday, December 1, 2022, the computerized facial composite of two individuals involved in the abduction of a cockfighting enthusiast in Laguna.

CIDG Director Brigadier General Ronald Lee said the two suspects were caught in a video while walking outside a cockfighting arena in Sta. Cruz, Laguna on April 28, 2021 together with Michael Bautista, who was then handcuffed.

Bautista’s wife and brother positively identified that he was the man in the video and he has since been missing.

“Kinakailangan pa rin nating ipa-enhance yung video upang ma-establish nating mabuti ang pagkakakilanlan nung mga suspek na hinihinalang mga pulis,” Lee said.

(We still need to enhance the video so that we can properly establish the identity of the suspects who are believed to be police officers.)

Charges against the two suspects were being prepared for filing before the Department of Justice.

The CIDG is probing eight cases involving the disappearances of 34 cockfighting enthusiasts since 2020. These cases sparked an investigation of the Senate.

Earlier, the CIDG filed kidnapping charges against eight security personnel of the Manila Arena over the alleged abduction of six sabungeros.

Several police officers were also implicated in the alleged kidnapping of sabungeros. (SunStar Philippines)
