PALERMO, Italy, Dec. 11, 2025 — JA Solar, a global leader in photovoltaic products and integrated energy solutions, announced the successful commissioning of a solar-plus-storage microgrid at a modern C&I facility in Sicily. This project represents a practical application of JA Solar’s “PV+Storage+X” model—a flexible framework that merges solar generation and battery storage with industry-specific uses (“X”) to provide customized, sustainable energy solutions.
Built following this framework, the system integrates 3.2 MW of existing solar capacity and 2 MW of newly added solar capacity with a 2.61 MWh battery energy storage system, offering three key advantages: optimized renewable self-consumption, enhanced energy resilience, and substantial reductions in energy costs and carbon emissions.
