TEACHERS in public schools will receive a P1,000 incentive as part of the celebration of the National Teachers’ Month, Department of Education (DepEd) Spokesperson Michael Poa said on Thursday, September 8, 2022“Yes po. We will continue with the P1,000 incentive para sa pagpupugay sa ating mga teachers (to give honor to our teachers),” he said in a press conference.Poa said the agency will work double time to attend to the needs of the teachers, acknowledging their role in society, especially the children who are the country’s future.He said they are hoping that they will be able to provide teachers with a more conducive environment by the end of their term.The National Teachers’ Month runs from September 5 to October 5.During the kickoff ceremony of the month-long celebration on Tuesday, September 6, Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio, the concurrent secretary of DepEd, commended the teachers for their service to the country, especially the youth.“Our teachers deserve respect and admiration for their undying dedication to guiding and helping our learners, parents and guardians when the whole world had to shift to home learning drastically because of the pandemic,” she said.“At nang buksan natin muli ang ating mga paaralan para sa in-person learning, muling nanguna ang mga guro para masigurado na magtatagumpay ang ating mga hakbang. Hindi ninyo inalintana ang pagod, ang hirap, ang kritisismo, at pati ang takot na patuloy na dala ng pandemya.
