TWO men without the mandated face masks were arrested after they yielded over P9 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) in Taguig City, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Guillermo Eleazar said on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

Eleazar said Jemboy Pascual and Eskak Kamsa were approached by the police initially for not wearing a face mask in a public place.

The two men, however, ran away, prompting the police to run after them. When apprehended, the two men were allegedly found to be carrying 27 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 1.35 kilograms of suspected shabu worth P9.18 million.

Police also seized P10,000 cash and a weighing scale from the suspects.

The suspects were brought to the Taguig City Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit for investigation and disposition.

They will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo / SunStar Philippines)
