THE Office of the Vice President (OVP) is studying the possible filing of charges against the proliferators of “malicious claims” that Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio was using the presidential chopper for her daily travel from her home in Davao City to her workplace in Manila.”Pinag-aaralan namin ‘yan kung magka-qualify ‘yan sa isang kriminal na kaso kasi marami ring nakaloko at nalinlang ‘yong mga ganyang post (We are studying that to see if it qualifies as a criminal case because many people have been fooled and deceived by posts like that),” OVP Spokesperson Reynold Munsayac said in a video message sent to reporters on Thursday, September 15, 2022.”Kapag pinabayaan nating mag-propagate ‘yong mga ganyan, minsan naniniwala ‘yong taumbayan,” he added.(If we allow this to propagate, there are people who will be deceived.)Munsayac ensured that Duterte-Carpio is not using government resources for personal purposes. He said Duterte-Carpio and her family are already based in Manila.”Dahil sa access niya sa mga sasakyan na iyan, natatapos niya nang mahusay iyong kanyang mga obligasyon within the day. Kaya po siya nakakauwi sa gabi. Iyon lang naman ho iyong punto ng kanyang pasasalamat,” he said.(Because of here access to these types of transportation, she is able to finish her obligations well within the day. That is why she is able to go home at night. That is the only point of her gratitude.)Duterte-Carpio was criticized following her Facebook post where she greeted President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for his birthday. In the said post, Duterte also thanked Marcos for letting her use the presidential aircraft so she could be with her family.“Thank you, PBB, and your 250th PAW (Presidential Airlift Wing) for ensuring that wherever I may be found in the country during the day, I am home in time to tuck my children to bed. Thank you for putting a premium on the desire of a working mother to be present in her children’s lives. I wish God’s favor upon you as you celebrate your birthday and pray that you are given the strength and wisdom for the difficult road ahead,” she said in her post. (SunStar Philippines)
