THE National Capital Region (NCR) has logged its lowest seven-day coronavirus disease (Covid-19) positivity rate over the past 16 weeks from October 26 to November 2, Octa Research said on Friday, November 4, 2022.

As of November 2, Octa fellow Dr. Guido David said Metro Manila’s weekly positivity rate was at 8.9 percent, the lowest since July 4 and 16.8 percent lower than the week prior.

David said the peak positivity rate in NCR in the current Covid-19 wave was on October 4 at 19.1 percent.

As of October 31, the reproduction number or the number of persons getting infected by a single case in the region was .65 while the one-week growth rate was at -35 percent.

The seven-day average of new cases also went down from 411 to 269 as of November 3 while the average daily attack rate was at 1.87 per 100,000.

David said healthcare utilization remained in the country’s capital and is at low risk at 27.8 percent while intensive care unit occupancy was also low at 21.6 percent.

“If current trends continue, this would project to less than 100 new cases per day in the NCR by the end of November,” he said.

As of November 3, the country had a total of 18,392 active Covid-19 cases out of the 4,006,635 total caseload since 2020.

The health department said 64,179 individuals in the country have died since 2020 due to Covid-19. (SunStar Philippines)
