THE coronavirus disease (Covid-19) positivity rate of the National Capital Region (NCR) continued to climb and is now above two percent.

According to the independent Octa Research, the positivity rate of Metro Manila is now at 2.1 percent.

“NCR positivity rate increased from 1.8 percent as of March 1, to 2.1 percent as of March 8,” said Octa fellow Guido David in a social media post.

Despite the increase, he said NCR’s classification remains low.

“The positivity rate remained low (since it is) below 5 percent,” said David.

The World Health Organization has set the threshold for positivity rate for Covid-19 at five percent, which means the transmission is under control.

Positivity rate is the percentage of people who test positive for the virus out of the overall number of those who have been tested. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
