THE coronavirus disease (Covid-19) positivity rate in Metro Manila has decreased from 14.9 percent to 12.3 percent, Octa Research said on Monday, October 24, 2022.

Octa fellow Dr. Guido David said the seven-day Covid-19 positivity rate was at 12.3 percent as of October 22 from 14.9 percent on October 15.

Positivity rate refers to the number of individuals testing positive for the virus among the total number of persons who underwent testing.

David said the Covid-19 positivity rates in the provinces of Cagayan, Iloilo, Isabela, La Union, Misamis Oriental, Pangasinan and Tarlac increased to “high levels” during the past week.

The positivity rate of the province of Cebu remained at moderate risk at 8.5 percent, although it was a bit higher than its positivity rate last week, which was 6.5 percent.

The province of Benguet downgraded to moderate risk with a positivity rate of 7.0 percent.

As of October 23, the country has a total of 23,369 active Covid-19 cases in which 1,585 were recorded on Sunday.

The Philippines has a total Covid-19 caseload of 3,994,634 with 63,779 deaths. (SunStar Philippines)
