Under Proclamation 90, Marcos declared January 2 as an additional Special Non-Working Day, and April 10 and November 27 as Regular Holidays.
From April 9, which falls on a Sunday in 2023, Marcos transferred the annual commemoration of the Araw ng Kagitingan to April 10, a Monday.
The annual date of observation for Bonifacio Day was November 30, but starting next year, it will be observed on November 27.
“There is a need to adjust these holidays pursuant to the principle of holiday economics wherein a longer weekend will help encourage domestic travel and increase tourism expenditures in the county,” the order stated.
It added that all other provisions of Proclamation 42, which contains the list of other holidays for 2023, remain unchanged, valid and existing.
The regular holidays for 2023 were:
* January 1 – New Year’s Day
* April 10 – Araw ng Kagitingan
* April 6 – Maundy Thursday
* April 7 – Good Friday
* May 1 – Labor Day
* June 12 – Independence Day
* August 28 – National Heroes’ Day
* November 27 – Bonifacio Day
* December 25 – Christmas Day
* December 30 – Rizal Day
Special non-working days include the following:
* January 2 – Additional Special Non-Working Day
* February 25 – Edsa People Power Revolution Anniversary
* April 8 – Black Saturday
* August 21 – Ninoy Aquino Day
* November 1 – All Saint’s Day
* November 2 – Additional Special Non-Working Day
* December 8 – Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary
* December 31 – Last Day of the Year
