PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will meet the United States (US) President while he is in New York attending the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.In a statement, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said the “momentous event” will be an opportunity for the Philippines and US to discuss the 76 fruitful years of their alliance in terms of mutual cooperation, two-way trade, direct investments, and other issues confronting the world.Earlier, Marcos said his team requested a meeting with Biden to personally affirm and strengthen the long-standing ties between the Philippines and the US.He said he sees the US as a close partner in achieving the goals of the country especially in economic recovery amid the Covid-19 pandemic.Marcos is set to return to the Philippines on September 24.
