PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has appointed former Foreign Affairs secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. as the country’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.Marcos’ order indicates Locsin’s concurrent jurisdiction over Ireland, Isle of Man, Bailiwick of Jersey and Bailiwick of Guernsey.Locsin will have the salary and emoluments of a Chief of Mission, Class I.Locsin, a lawyer and former politician journalist, served as the DFA secretary during the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.He also served under the administration of late President Corazon Aquino and former Presidents Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Joseph Ejercito Estrada.
