FORMER Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board member Sandra Cam was released from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center where she was detained over murder charges on Monday, January 17, 2023.

In a press conference, PNP Public Information Office (PIO) Chief Colonel Red Maranan said Cam was released around 10:50 p.m.

On Monday, Judge Dinah Aguila-Topacio of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 42, acquitted Cam, her son Marco Martin and five others, namely, Nelson Cambaya, Junel Gomez, Juanito de Luna, Rido de la Cruz, and Bradford Solis, from murder charges in relation to the October 2019 killing of then Batuan, Masbate town vice mayor Charlie Yuson III.

Yuson’s son, Charmax Jan, won against Cam’s son in the 2019 mayoralty race.

Yuson’s relatives earlier said that those involved in the killing were seen at a resort owned by Cam in Masbate.

Cam has repeatedly denied the accusations. (SunStar Philippines)
