In a report from the San Jose del Monte City Police Office, it said the boy took the firearm of his father, who is a police officer assigned in Camp Crame, and brought it to school on Thursday morning, January 26, 2023.
The boy was playing with the gun inside the school’s comfort room when it suddenly went off, hitting his chin.
The victim was brought to Kairos Hospital and later on transferred to Skyline Hospital and Medical Center for further medical intervention
“The provincial director of Bulacan PPO (Provincial Police Office) was already directed to conduct investigation on the circumstances of the incident. Likewise, Bulacan PPO will be coordinating with the police officer to determine the reason why said firearm was in the possession of said minor,” PNP chief of the Public Affairs Office Colonel Red Maranan said in a statement.
