THE Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) has arrested four foreign nationals allegedly involved in the abduction and murder of a Filipino-Chinese businessman.

The AKG identified the arrested suspects as Bei Huimin, 30; Jielong Shen, 26; Sun XiaoHui, 26, all Chinese nationals; and Hong Puc Le, 33, a Vietnamese national.

The three Chinese nationals were arrested while withdrawing the ransom money in a bank in Parañaque City, while Hong was collared while also in a bank in Taguig City cashing out the ransom money sent to his account.

The arrests happened on March 23.

In a press conference on Monday, March 27, 2023, PNP spokesperson Colonel Jean Fajardo said the 62-year-old Chinese-Filipino victim was abducted while walking on a roadside on his way to his hardware store in Quezon City on March 18.

His body, which bore signs of torture, including a severed toe was recovered in Tanza Cavite on March 22.

Fajardo said the victim’s kin paid nearly P1 million ransom money to the victims.

She said they are not discounting the possibility that the arrested suspects have Filipino cohorts. (SunStar Philippines)
