TWO Chinese nationals were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Mexico, Pampanga Wednesday afternoon, September 14, 2022, resulting in the recovery of over P400 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu).Police Regional Office-Central Luzon Director Brigadier General Cesar Pasiwen identified the arrested individuals as Wenjie Chen, 45, and Sy Yan Qing, 42, who were residing in Gerona, Tarlac and Angeles City, respectively.Seized from the suspects were several pieces of vacuum-sealed plastic Chinese tea bag containing shabu with estimated total weight of 60 kilograms and valued at around P408 million.Pasiwen said the suspects are cohorts of several high-valued targets under the PNP watch list who are notorious in peddling volumes of illegal drugs in Metro Manila, Central Luzon and Calabarzon.“The series of accomplishments highlight the government’s stiff anti-illegal drug campaign and all police units are working closely together to eliminate drugs in the country and we are continuously strengthening our intelligence operations focusing on the source of illegal drugs to arrest and put them behind bars,” he said.Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the duo.
