On Tuesday, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, announced that her cancer is in remission, almost a year after her initial diagnosis was made public.
“It’s a relief to be in remission, and I remain focused on my recovery,” she shared on X on Jan. 14.
Middleton first disclosed her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, stating that she started treatment in late February and was undergoing what she termed intensive therapy. Neither Middleton nor the royal family have specified the type or stage of her cancer.
In her post about remission, she expressed gratitude for the support her family received. “My sincere thanks go to everyone who has quietly supported William and me through this,” she wrote. “We are incredibly grateful for the care and guidance we’ve received during my treatment.”
Middleton recently visited the hospital where she underwent treatment, interacting with staff and patients.
In September, the Princess shared that she had completed chemotherapy and was concentrating on remaining cancer-free.
“As anyone with a cancer diagnosis knows, adapting to a new normal takes time,” Middleton wrote on Tuesday. “However, I’m looking forward to a productive year ahead.”
