Seoul, South Korea, February 11, 2025 – GOOD LIFE (CEO Lee Jongho) has launched its next-generation power strip, S.O.V., on Kickstarter in the U.S. This innovative product is designed to improve electrical safety and efficiency.
GOOD LIFE, established to create innovative and previously unavailable household items that enhance safety and convenience, has a proven track record. Their technology earned a gold award at the 2021 Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, and they hold patents in the U.S., Japan, and other countries. Furthermore, they’ve received ETL certification from Intertek, verifying product reliability.
As a spin-off company from the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI), GOOD LIFE benefits from a team with over 30 years of experience in electrical engineering, including master electricians. The company’s leadership includes experts with two gold and one silver award from the U.S. INPEX Invention & New Product Exposition.
The new S.O.V. power strip features a revolutionary automatic power cut-off function. A GOOD LIFE representative stated, “Existing power strips continue supplying power even when unused, increasing accident risks. Our ‘no electricity, no accidents’ design philosophy underpins S.O.V.’s development.”
The representative added, “Electricity is vital, yet electrical accidents are easily preventable. While various safety products exist, most offer single functions, like socket blockers. This crowdfunding campaign introduces the multifunctional S.O.V., preventing multiple accident types for enhanced daily safety and convenience.”
S.O.V. automatically cuts power within the socket until a plug is inserted, then automatically restores power. This prevents foreign objects from entering the socket, fundamentally eliminating a major accident cause. It also boasts an IPX4 waterproof rating and an Ultra Flat Plug Design, maximizing space efficiency while maintaining a sleek aesthetic.
S.O.V.’s enhanced safety makes it ideal for various settings. GOOD LIFE recommends it for homes with children, daycare centers, schools, hospitals, and facilities housing mobility-impaired individuals. The representative noted, “Electrical outlets are ubiquitous, making everyone a potential customer. However, infants and young children, unaware of electrical risks, are especially vulnerable. While externally resembling a standard outlet, S.O.V.’s internal safety system automatically prevents accidents from plug insertion/removal, metallic objects, and water exposure – making it the safest option for child protection.”
Furthermore, S.O.V. targets safety-critical industries: medical equipment, computer operations, military facilities, offices, factories, ships, submarines, laundries, fisheries, and high-traffic public areas. Preventing electrical negligence and its severe consequences is crucial in these environments.
GOOD LIFE is preparing for Amazon launch and actively seeking collaborations with U.S. electrical equipment manufacturers and distributors. They aim for gradual expansion into major retail chains like Costco, Home Depot, Walmart, Uline, Lowe’s, and Target. GOOD LIFE remains committed to ongoing R&D, aiming to deliver more innovative safety and convenience products in the future.
