Shanghai, China, April 12, 2025 – The 2025 Changsha International Construction Machinery Expo (CICEE), a key annual event for the global construction machinery sector, will be held from May 15 to 18, 2025, at the International Convention and Exhibition Center in Changsha, Hunan. Under the theme “High-end, Intelligent, and Green,” the expo will act as a center for global tech innovation and industry partnerships, showcasing the innovation and global ambitions of China’s construction machinery industry to the world.

The exhibition will span 300,000 square meters and feature 1,800 exhibitors, including 35 of the world’s top 50 construction machinery brands. Expected to draw over 300,000 professional visitors, the expo aims to facilitate $8 billion in transactions, outlining the industry’s future path.

CICEE, recognized as one of the world’s top three construction machinery exhibitions, has become an indicator of industry trends since its inception in 2019, growing in scale and international importance each year. This year’s event will highlight “New Quality Productive Forces,” redefining the construction machinery landscape with 1,500 advanced technologies and products, such as digitalization, autonomous driving, and hydrogen power. Examples include AI-driven intelligent unmanned excavators that optimize construction routes, electric aerial work platforms achieving zero emissions and high efficiency, and a ‘Green Technology Zone’ presenting hydrogen fuel cell-powered mining equipment, demonstrating the industry’s dedication to low-carbon practices.

The expo’s international reach has been further strengthened through the ‘Ten Countries, Hundred Cities, Thousand Enterprises Brand Tour’ initiative. The organizing committee has hosted promotional events in ten countries, including France, Germany, and Malaysia, secured agreements with agents in Europe, Southeast Asia, and Africa, and intends to establish overseas sub-exhibition venues to foster a global cooperation network. This effort has attracted more than 5,000 international buyers and has aided Chinese firms in expanding their presence in the Belt and Road market, moving from “Made in China” to collaboratively building industrial chain ecosystems.

Leading Hunan-based construction machinery companies such as SANY Group, Zoomlion, and Shanhe Intelligent have recently displayed their strong global competitiveness at BAUMA 2025 in Germany. SANY Group presented 11 new electric products designed for European conditions and compliant with ‘Euro V’ emission standards. Zoomlion showcased a comprehensive smart mining solution featuring unmanned mining trucks and digital management for fully automated operations. Shanhe Intelligent’s all-electric excavators, known for their exceptional endurance and efficiency, have gained popularity in European and American markets.

These companies have not only demonstrated technological advancements but have also transitioned from merely exporting products to exporting entire ecosystems through localized production and global resource integration. Zoomlion’s second-phase factory groundbreaking in Germany and XCMG’s UK subsidiary establishment highlight the deep integration of Chinese companies into the global market.

The expo is moving beyond traditional formats, creating an engaging experience that combines ‘exhibition, conference, competition, and performance.’ Over 30 international forums and 100 corporate summits will bring together global academics and industry leaders to discuss topics like ‘smart city construction’ and ‘cultivating new quality productive forces.’ The ‘Operator Skills Competition’ and ‘Unmanned Machinery Operation Competition’ will showcase practical technology applications through competitive events. Additionally, an engineering machinery-themed light show incorporating Changsha’s regional characteristics and a VR virtual construction experience area will allow visitors to appreciate the unique appeal of the ‘Media Arts Capital’ through technology and culture.

To improve exhibition efficiency, CICEE has introduced integrated online and offline services, including an online pre-registration system and a virtual exhibition hall for accurate pre-event matching. Its location next to high-speed rail stations and airports provides easy access to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen within two hours, ensuring efficient logistics and visitor flow. The expo’s success is supported by the Changsha construction machinery industrial cluster: 516 upstream and downstream companies covering the entire industrial chain, from main equipment to supporting technologies, creating an ecosystem led by major companies collaborating with SMEs. Jindiamond Machinery, for example, enhances its technology by supplying components to SANY and Zoomlion and exports products to South Korea’s Doosan Group, demonstrating the global competitiveness of the local supply chain.

The 2025 Changsha International Construction Machinery Expo is more than just a showcase of technology and products; it is a catalyst for collaborative innovation and green transformation in the global industrial chain. It promotes the upgrading of China’s construction machinery industry from ‘scale expansion’ to ‘value symbiosis,’ injecting new momentum for intelligent and sustainable development into the global market. In this fusion of technology and business, Changsha is declaring to the world that the rise of Chinese manufacturing is not just an industrial upgrade but also a future vision of human-machine coexistence.
